• Support the management of the technology/innovation roadmap (clinical view, focusing on definition)
• Guide the work of other team members as required
For applicants with a strong technical focus, (technical) research scientists are responsible for developing methods, algorithms and prototypes to support transfer of innovations into the product (PET, PET/CT, SPECT, SPECT/CT scanners, application software). The methods and algorithms should solve technical image processing problems relevant to clinical situations for the acquisition, control or clinical interpretation of Molecular Imaging data. The solution should be properly validated. The prototypes should be operational example applications that can be used by a clinician for supervised demonstrations for validation of concepts, or independently in the context of an extensive clinical validation study.
Main responsibilities:
• Design image processing methods and algorithms in partnership with the clinical research scientists
• Perform validation of methods and algorithms
• Support transfer of technology to engineering implementation with the relevant teams (product management, project management, analysts, testers, developers), including producing technical reports describing the method, as well as designing and creating test data and providing performance evaluation records
• Support clinical collaborations by enabling validation efforts
• Support the technology/innovation roadmap (technical view)
• Guide the work of other team members as required
