Knowledge of applicable college, state, and federal laws,regulations, policies, and proceduresDuties:This position supports Learning Commons (LC) library and technology on allcampuses through managing and supervising related part-time and full-timestaff, along with the associated functions, while contributing to andimplementing a strategic plan related to the areas.1. Supervise daily work of librarians, library technicians, and LeadLearning Resource Technician including but not limited to:a. answering questions and handling first-level student, library, and LCtechnology issues;b. providing employee training;c. ensuring employee adherence to operational guidelines; handlingfirst-level issues between staff and faculty;d. assisting with and approving staff schedules, handling and approvingschedule changes, resolving scheduling conflicts; reviewing and approvinglibrary and LC technology staff time sheets.2. Assist with budget tracking including past and projecting future employeesalary payments and correlating semester schedules, electronic librarymaterials, and technology purchases to salary budget expenditures.3. Complete tasks related to hiring library and LC technology staff,including but not limited to:a. recruiting, screening, interviewing, and recommending for hire;b. processing hiring forms;c. working with Human Resources to ensure completion of HR paperwork andbackground checks;d. updating department documents to track employee hours of availability andsimilar information.4. Facilitate new library and technology program development andimplementation by working with supervisor, faculty, and staff,including: researching best practices regarding academic assistance ingeneral and library and academic support technology in particular.5. Assist with collection and compilation of related data to include:a. providing basic data analysis;b. completing library national and agency survey information.6. Provide training, communicate guidelines, and produce other staffcommunications relating to the Learning Commons.7. Develop and maintain relationships with faculty and others to enable smoothoperations in library and technology in the Learning Commons; coordinateregular outreach meetings between library and faculty.8. Provide input on strategic and continuous improvement initiatives.9. Other duties as assigned.
