The Manager, Field Quality Control is responsible for the implementation and management of the Company’s Quality Control Program, including the coordination, performance and execution of construction inspection and testing services for the projects. The Field QC Manager is responsible for assuring that the quality of the work meets or exceeds the project’s contractual requirements.
* Performs internal audits (as required).
* Participates in third-party accreditation audits (as required).
* Initiates and approves Subcontractor failure analysis relative to corrective action requests
* Implements and directs the Quality Control Program that is in accordance with the LPP Construction Quality Control Manual and the project requirements.
* Verifies that the Project Specific Inspection Test Plans are issued and maintained to current status in the project files.
* Assures that project specific Inspection Test Plan includes the requirements of Client specifications and applicable Codes and Standards. Oversees the development and maintenance of quality control turnover documentation as required by contract.
* Performs routine audits to ascertain that only the current issue of drawings or specifications is in use.
* Oversees the development and maintenance of marked up IFC drawings that accurately reflect all field modifications by the Subcontractor.
* Coordinates resolution of quality assurance related problems.
* Assists the site Quality Control personnel in coordinating and managing quality assurance requirements of subcontractors and reporting quality control problems, or potential quality control problems, to the Construction Site Manager, the Field Operations Manager, and the Director of Construction.
* Performs periodic trips to construction sites to evaluate quality plan execution and overall quality status.
* Participates in project meetings as required.
* Overall quality support, direction, and management during the construction portion of a project, from proposal preparation to mechanical completion, as required, to support the designated project team. Specific emphasis shall be focused on site quality teams and subcontractor quality management.
* Coordinates with HSE personnel for quality issues that may affect project safety.
* Develops and implements remediation plans for issues that are not in compliance with quality control requirements.
* Recommends and oversees the implementation of new processes where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery.
* Responsible for the performance of the field Quality Control staff and Quality Control efforts
* Responsible for the coordination and management of the inspection and testing subcontractors that are contracted directly to LPP.
* Establish and lead regular meetings to provide Quality Control information on all projects.
* Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with the Director of Construction as appropriate
* High School Diploma.
* Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), and hold Level II Certification in Radiographic Testing (RT)/Film Interpreter, Dye Penetrant Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing, preferred.
* Five (5) or more years of involvement in overall management of construction projects of similar size and type, and management of a credited Quality Control Program.
* Possess a broad understanding of each construction discipline and related Quality Control requirements.
* Effective leadership skills.
* Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
* Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with subcontractors, superintendents, engineering staff, and owner’s representatives.
* Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective working under pressure and with good judgment.
