## Position Summary

The PSU Office of Human Resources invites applications for the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Assistant position. Working in support of a wide array of HR functions and payroll operations, responsibilities include:

* Supporting software development projects and coordinating testing for the HRIS system (Banner), applicant tracking system (PeopleAdmin), employee self-service and payroll interfaces, and other integrated and affiliated systems;

* Developing and maintaining HR website content (Drupal/HTML);

* Developing, supporting, and testing enterprise content management solutions (OnBase);

* Delivery of HR reports (Cognos and SQL).

* Training end users on enterprise systems and upgrades and troubleshooting software issues with HR employees and IT teams.

This position reports to the HRIS Analyst/Project Manager and is a full-time overtime-subject position, excluded from bargaining unit representation due to work with confidential management materials pertaining to collective bargaining.

## Minimum Qualifications

* Associate’s degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of college level coursework plus related work experience may substitute for a degree.

* Minimum of one year experience involving a combination of the following:

* Running reports and queries.

* Using HRIS, payroll, or FIS software systems (such as Banner, PeopleSoft, ADP, etc.).

* Participating in testing software for systems upgrades/installations.

* Web maintenance or development.

* Communicating/translating technical or complex information to non-technical users.

* Proficiency with windows-based software.

* Excellent communication skills and customer service standards.

* Proven ability to exchange project information with customers.

* Proven ability to perform complex analysis and assessment, develop project outlines, meet project deadlines, and problem-solve moderately complex technical issues.

* Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or equivalent programs, such as Google Docs or Open Office).

* High desire to learn and high learning agility.

* Ability to successfully complete a background check.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Previous employment experience or education in human resources or payroll operations.

* BA/BS in human resources, computer science, information systems, educational technology, or similar related field.

* Previous employment experience in higher education.

* Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel or equivalent.

* Experience using Drupal, HTML, and/or CSS.

* Experience using Banner HRIS.

* Experience using SQL, Cognos, or other reporting tools.

* Experience using OnBase or other enterprise content management software.

## Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

The starting hourly rate for this position will be $17.00 hr to $18.25 hr ($35,360 to $38,004 annual salary rate equivalent) with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
