In this role, you will be part of the Academic and Campus Technology, Communications and Support Division within OIT. We are the customer-facing group within OIT and our primary mission is to meet the IT support needs of our faculty, students and staff. The Support area provides proactive computer management and technical help. We answer questions regarding teaching with technology, IT support incidents, and IT requests . We strive to enhance the productivity and technological capabilities of all employees and students at CU-Boulder. **Who we are:**
As part of the _Academic and Campus Technology, Communications and Support Division_, Support’s purpose is to provide friendly, warm, professional, and expert technical support for all client-facing services provided by OIT. It is this group’s purpose to provide the entire university community with high quality support. We also have secondary responsibility for management of the OIT Request Fulfillment process.
**What your key responsibilities will be:**
You will provide a unique combination of hands-on computer system setup work, program management, people management, and cross-functional process management. You will demonstrate a strong mix of hands-on “doer,” negotiator, and strategic “planner”.
**Computer Lifecycle Program Management**— 80%
As part of the Support Group in OIT, the Computer Lifecycle Program (CLP) serves a key role in creating and implementing an efficient and complete computer lifecycle program. The CLP program covers all employees at the University of Colorado Boulder whose departments choose to participate in the program. You’ll be working with other parts of OIT, especially Endpoint Integration, Endpoint Management Services, Dedicated Desktop Support, and the IT Service Center for an efficient and smooth experience for end users.
This position is responsible for the Strategic Design (or Redesign) of all aspects of the CU CLP, including:
* Faculty Computer Purchase Program
* Staff Computer Purchase Program
* Computer Lifecycle Program Design
* OIT Departmental Computer Lifecycle Management
* End-user Technology Refresh
* Determining standard / recommended systems
* Participating in negotiating with Vendors, the central Procurement Services Center (PSC), and other CU campuses
* Vendor relationship management
* Acquisition
* Staging
* Disposition
* Rollouts
* Warranty/Maintenance tracking
* Install/Deinstall
* Asset Labeling / Barcoding
* Asset Management and Tracking
* Quantification and Reporting
* Total cost of Ownership calculations and transparency
* Decommissioning
* Down-streaming / Recycling / Disposal
This position may initially be responsible for hands-on work such as:
* Computer receiving
* Unboxing
* Initial setup
* Delivery
This is a **management and leadership position** in OIT. You will be responsible for such things as budget; final decisions on processes involving other areas of OIT including Desktop Support; and Asset Management Tool selection and enabled features. You’ll have full authority and latitude to determine and implement the methods to achieve all of the goals and objectives for the Asset Management Program, including:
* Staff selection and evaluation
* Methods used to achieve satisfaction goals
* Management approach and style
* Processes and procedures
Request Fulfillment Management Process – 20%
Request Fulfillment Management within OIT is one of several cross-functional processes that define how OIT conducts the business of IT. Interpreting and following ITIL guidelines, this process is foundational to OIT’s practices. Specifically in this position, you will:
* Document the Request Fulfillment Process.
* Work with the IT Service Management tool (ServiceNow) team to implement the process within the tool.
* Strive for efficiency and automation wherever practicable.
* Work with all areas of OIT during creation, adoption, and modification.
* Serve as Leader of the Request Fulfillment process.
* Conduct audits and request fulfillment reviews.
* Identify and monitor appropriate metrics.
* Create and distribute periodic reports.
* Coordinate with other ITIL Process Owners.
This is a **process management and leadership position** in OIT. As such, you will have overall responsibilities for creation and management of process, and submission of process for approval by OIT Directors. You will be the architect and steward of this process.

Minimum Qualifications
**What we require:**
* Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or related field. A combination of education and or additional related experience as described below may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
* Three years of IT Support experience, including hands on or close-to-hands-on experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of and experience with imaging technologies for Windows systems:
* Microsoft Deployment Kit (MDT),
* System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
* Demonstrated understanding of and experience with Mac and PC hardware and peripherals.
* Windows Deployment Services (WDS) or
* Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with, technologies for Macintosh systems:
* Casper Suite or
* Carbon Copy Cloner
