Position Description IN_EN_30_78_Design Drafter_Level 1
Auxiliary Sealing System Product Engineering service encompasses mainstream support extended from engineering centers on the design and development of device and/or assemblies to be produced through manufacturing process in various business units and/or in Flowserve approved fabricator shop. While referred to as Order Engineering in some areas, employees in these roles are responsible for managing main stream supports for various business units which execute time bound projects/ Standardization for OEM's and or End Users. They engineer products in-line with the Techno-Commercial Quotations and Customer Order/ Specification for project jobs and/or non-project orders. They also collaborate with other engineers from technical service, system specialists, project engineers and seal order engineers to determine the best optimum solution for customer applications and ensure the solution works successfully upon commissioning. The engineers in this function should keep abreast of latest developments in the field of Instrumentation and ensure the solutions aligning with customer requests as the system product line is non-standard many times. This role typically involves solicitation of knowledge and skills on Fabrication, Manufacturability, Operability, Serviceability, Welding, NDT, Mechanical design, Functional design, Thermal design and Instrumentation design of auxiliary systems to ensure alignment with business unit objectives, co-ordination and overall quality control of the work.
Accountabilities Confer with Export Compliance when executing tasks and raise red flags as necessitated.
Prepare complete Bill of Materials, general arrangement drawings and other technical documentation required to release drawing and/or order to customer or production.
Adhering to the established business system (Client server) procedures and guidelines in day-to-day functions.
Demonstrates acquired knowledge on Flowserve drafting standards and procedures.
Performing tasks associated with complicated layout design for standard products and generating shop floor fabrication drawing.
Performing drafting tasks associated with new assembly drawings, revision, duplication, as-built and translations jobs under supervision of standard auxiliary sealing system for ANSI & API market.
Reviews component selections and assemblies to ensure compliance with project and/or customer specifications.
Creation of new part codes for hardware components and analogue instruments as per protocol.
Understand & execute tasks as per work instruction independently. Practices scientific approach and determines the foreseeable cascading effects applicable for a given change.
Generate Bill of materials for assembly drawings for the retrofit jobs and ensure the design compliments the equipment and customer technology to serve user needs.
Prioritizing and executing jobs to meet deadline on assigned tasks and projects.
Demonstrate the proficiency in business system record creation, activation, job parking/ harbouring based on history of job, folder creation in line with electronic folder management scheme.
Appraise on status of job to originator and associated stakeholders. Meets project scheduled milestones for engineering deliverables.
Demonstrates workable knowledge on product specific international standards.
Preform basic design calculations with available internal tools with guidance.
Collaborate with manufacturing and other engineering sites as required to complete design work accurately and on-time.
Demonstrate the ability to optimize design using existing adaptive components independently.
Implement Engineering lessons learnt & Best Practices make best use existing and create new Kaizen tools to improve productivity.
Independently prepare technical documents associated with the auxiliary systems such as SPIR List; E-SPIR Lists, Utility consumption lists, RAAL, Set point list, System Data sheet.
Acquire Design Drafter Certification per Certification Procedure.
Demonstrate the self checking capability, undertake complete ownership on quality and reduce checking dependency.
Position Requirements Diploma Engineering Mechanical/ Production or Equivalent having 5+ years of experience in similar engineering industry specialized in Rotating equipment or Static/ Pressure containing equipment, Fabrication, Heat Exchanger manufacturing, Piping design for Chemical Process industry/ Power industry. Experience with mechanical seals or rotating equipment preferred.
Broad technical knowledge with the ability to understand the requirements of pressure vessel , heat exchanger, manufacturing, testing, Welding, NDE is a credential.
Cross-functional knowledge on instrumentation application is a credential.
Collaborative skill is required to manage and interact with all facility personnel, affiliates across globe and customers.
Should be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Fluency in Verbal and Written "English" communication
Percentage of Approximate Travel Required 5%
