Position Description

Incumbent is responsible for continually assessing non-clinical practice operations for approximately 50,000 visits in PCAM Medical Dermatology, 2 Maloney Phototherapy, and PCAM Photopheresis programs, encompassing 35 attending physicians, 18 residents and 3 fellows. The incumbent will ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service, quality, compliance with governmental agencies, patient access, physician and staff engagement and the fiscal health of the practices. Manager is responsible for hiring, training and performance management of approximately 8 direct report FTEs and an additional 14 indirect reports. The Practice manager will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manger and Access Manger. The Practice Manager is accountable to develop processes and metrics to manage the scheduling, clinic template maintenance, referrals/pre-authorizations, call center relationship and pre- and post-visit work queues. Serves as the clinical practice’s liaison to, Professional Fee Billing Office, Information Systems Division, CPUP Patient Services, Environmental Services, Health and Disease Management, Human Resources, Materials Management, Medical Records, Patient and Guest Services, Physical Plant and Telecommunications. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of Operations with accountability to Director of Finance.

Minimum Requirements

Certifications/Degree Requirements:
Master’s Degree in health care/hospital administration, business administration or significant equivalent experience required. Experience with Managed care requirements and knowledge of TJC and OSHA requirements for ambulatory health care settings.

Skill Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible positions in health care administration in a university/hospital setting, including extensive range of managerial responsibilities.. Experience with managed care operations is required. General knowledge of professional fee and hospital billing procedures, including knowledge of fast-paced outpatient setting. Possible exposure to patient illness. Ability to operate personal computer, printer and normal office equipment. Ability to meet with contacts.
