The position is located in the, Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Production Department (Code 900), Combat Systems/Electrical Division (Code 950), Ordnance Hoist Branch (Code 952), located at Naval Station Norfolk, in Norfolk, Virginia.

You must be a US Citizen. Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov Selectee must be determined suitable for federal employment. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Selectee is required to participate in the direct deposit pay program. Shift work, overtime, and travel are required (Scheduled and Unscheduled). A SECRET security clearance is required. A pre-employment physical is required. Travel (20%) is required.

* Disassembles and makes onsite repairs to marine equipment and machinery such as pumps, motors, main propulsion machinery, auxiliary engines, speed reductions, acceleration mechanisms, and derating feed tanks.
* Connects the power sources and reassembles and installs the equipment.
* Performs operational and functional tests, makes required adjustments in order to ensure proper operation of the entire system.
* Determines the nature and extent of repairs necessary and makes needed repairs by replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components.
* Installs, replaces, adjusts, and sets various regulating or safety devices such as meters, gauges, governors, and automatic alarms.

The position requires the incumbent to perform temporary duty travel (approximately 20%) which may be on short notice and/or for extended periods of time.

Incumbent is required to perform the above duties at a variety of job sites within commuting area.
