*Job Description*
Mayo Clinic Health System-Decorah Clinic Physicians, in Decorah Iowa, seeks a full-time Board Certified Internal Medicine physician to provide a full range of medical services for a patient population of up to 43,000 in Decorah Iowa.
Decorah Clinic has almost 30 physicians, with about 40,000 visits annually.
Primary care physicians, in conjunction with physician assistants, advanced registered nurse practitioners, and a certified nurse midwife, provide care to the entire family.
Full time specialists provide care in the areas of General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology, Podiatry, Emergency Medicine, Audiology, and Radiology, to help keep patients close to home.
In addition, outreach physicians from Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare provide care to patients in the areas of Adult and Pediatric Cardiology, Endocrinology, GI, Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary Diseases and Rheumatology.

Call is approximately 1:9, and there are 2 Internal Medicine physicians, and 8 Family Medicine physicians in the department.
The average weekly schedule includes 31 hours of direct patient care in a 4 or 4 ½ day model.
Average number of patients per day is 15-20.
There is a Hospitalist program including Monday-Thursday, and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts, with approximately 12 total Hospitalist shifts per year.
Qualifications: Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Must be a team player willing to lead program development and be an active member in decision making and governance of our clinic.

Winneshiek Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Decorah, Iowa and was named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by the Rural Health Care Association in 2011.
Clinical care is supported by a full service medical imaging department, including a 16-slice CT and fixed MRI.
State of the art facilities include a birthing center, full service laboratory, same day services department, and customized surgery suites equipped with the most current medical technology.
Winneshiek Medical Center also supports the largest rehabilitation and sports medicine network in the region, providing a complete care experience for patients.
Recent improvements include a six-bed ICU/SCU (Special Care Unit), which provides care for high acuity patients, a new same day surgery area, an expanded Radiology Department, and a new Emergency Department.
The Emergency Department, which also houses Urgent Care services, has 10 beds, including 6 exam rooms, including specialized Gynecology, Orthopedic, and Pediatric rooms, and 3 additional trauma/exam rooms organized around a central nursing station.
24/7 emergency care is available through the Emergency Department, which is staffed by full time Mayo Clinic Health System Emergency Medicine physicians.
The Mayo Clinic Outreach Dialysis Center in Decorah is adjacent to the Winneshiek Medical Center Clinic, and includes nine active dialysis stations, which cares for up to eighteen patients per day.
