**Position Summary:**
The Systems Administrator I will perform a full spectrum of IT related tasks including, but not limited to, active directory administration, Windows Server administration, infrastructure and networking administration, network security, and servicing PCs. The individual will be required to maintain computer systems, perform preventive maintenance, install software, catalog computer files, resolve database problems, and perform backup and recovery functions.
**Primary Job Functions:**
* Design a computer network for up to 100 users.
* Troubleshoot and analyze system problems and provide recommended solutions.
* Resolve compatibility issues and work with hardware, software, and network elements of the system in order to optimize performance.
* Write procedural documentation when required.
* Assist with managing network infrastructure, routers, switches, and security.
* Coordinate and implement software version changes.
* Monitor system health (memory, CPU, performance, and error logs).
* Adhere to Change Control, Change Log, and Downtime Log procedures for all critical services.
* Perform any IT related tasks or projects assigned by Supervisor.
**Qualifications**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed in the primary job functions satisfactorily. The minimum experience requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.
**Experience:**
* Knowledge of network servers operating systems such as Windows Server and UNIX.
* Familiarity with VMware, vSphere5, and the concepts of virtualization.
* Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and answer support related email, phone calls, and other electronic communications.
* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
* Must have excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and reasoning skills.
* Good comprehension of process improvement and how an SA is able to increase efficiency and streamline solutions.
**Preferred Technical** **Skills:**
* MS Active Directory
* Windows 2008 Server, policies and network resources
* MS Exchange server
* MS suite of communication products, SCCM, Lync, SharePoint
* Enterprise backup and anti-virus software
* Firewall theory/practical experience
* Familiarity with PKI, certificate exchange
* Network infrastructure design and support, DNS, DHCP, and strong TCP/IP
* Cisco Networking commands
* Network Load Balancing (NLB)
* PowerShell Scripting
* Server/Database/Network monitoring
**Education and/or Experience**
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other technical discipline from an accredited four-year College or University related to systems/network engineering and three (3) years of pratical experience which applies to systems administration of Windows based servers. This position requires continual training and certification, the applicant must be willing to continue study.
CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications are a plus
Experience in Database Management and Computer Programming is a plus
**Candidate Requirement**
The candidate must have a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, for employment.
