Responsibilities:

Saint Mary’s College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) invite applications for a full time, Staff Psychologist position to begin fall of 2015. The psychologist will provide a wide range of clinical, supervisory, training, outreach and consultation services.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of CAPS and the Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions of the college. This is a full time, 40 hour, 11 month position from August – June.

Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, the staff psychologist will provide direct clinical services including individual, group psychotherapy, psychological evaluation, and crisis intervention. Indirect clinical services include outreach presentations, campus/community consultation, and supervision of trainees.

Experience and Qualifications:

Ph.D., Psy. D and licensed in California. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a college counseling center or with a college-age population. This position requires highly developed clinical skills in evaluation, crisis intervention, and short-term therapy, as well as knowledge of young adult/college student development. Candidates must demonstrate skills in consultative work with professional colleagues and other staff, strong multicultural and diversity competency in addition to strong written and oral communication skills. Clinicians with experience and interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy and supervision, outreach, working with students from underserved and populations and who are Spanish speaking are strongly encouraged to apply.
