Task(s):
a. Assess the Health Promotion and Wellness needs and improvements to services.
b. Provide input for program development and create opportunities to engage in Health
Promotion and Wellness topics.
c. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and educational materials as they are used.
d. Produce training programs for NMCPHC health professionals' community.
e. Collect and analyze data to learn about their audience and improve programs and
services
f. Work with program administrators to improve Health Promotion and Wellness policies
that promote health
g. Initiates and executes scientific research and/or development studies; Analyzes problems and applies theoretical techniques to develop solutions.
1. Plans and performs scientific duties on new and varied problems where only general objectives are stated.
2. Coordinates broad phases of a project and performs advanced development work to obtain or maintain technical leadership in assigned field.
3. Plans and executes laboratory research.
4. Plans scientific effort in coordination with related efforts of other projects, departments, etc.
5. Establishes and defines the theoretical bases and principles which should apply and the empirical test procedures to be used.
6. Conducts investigations or tests pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials, or processes and investigates possible applications of results.
7. Interprets and evaluates test data and results of investigations and develops recommendations.
8. Recommends necessary corrections in technical analyses and design to ensure successful project completion.
9. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced scientists, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
10. Demonstrates creative ability through patent disclosures, problem solving, scientific reports or technical papers and articles.
11. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
12. Participates in special projects as required.

Master's degree in exercise physiology, nutrition, health education, health promotion,
public health, community health, psychology, community health nursing or a health
related profession.

8-10 years of related experience in scientific research, analysis.

Customer Requirements: Minimum 5 years' experience as a health educator in larger community based Health
Promotion environment.

Required Qualifications:
a. Knowledge and experience developing and evaluating HPW programs based on social
and behavioral science theories, such as the health belief model and trans theoretical
model, to provide technical assistance in assessing health promotion outcomes, and
arranging and making site visits to monitor and evaluate HPW programs.
b. Experience collecting, analyzing, interpreting and evaluating data to assess trends and
developments.
c. Effective communication and public speaking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
a. Expert knowledge of medical home model philosophies.
b. Experience developing and analyzing needs assessments for program planning,
assessing health status, identifying health risks, identifying resources, cost containment,
and establishing priorities for disease prevention.
c. Experience as principal investigator for grants or program manager for HPW, community
health, and chronic disease prevention programs with established proficiency.
d. Advanced experience with Healthy Eating, Active Living, Tobacco Free Living,
Reproductive and Sexual Health, Psychological and Emotional Well?]being, Injury and
Violence Free living, Preventing Drug Abuse and Excessive Alcohol Use and Medical
Home model services.
e. Expertise drafting of policy, regulations, instructions, standards, and guidelines related
to HPW program issues.
f. Advanced experience leading, organizing, and participating in multidisciplinary teams
that assess risk, conduct needs assessments, analyze data, develop content for
educational programs, draft policy guidance, and evaluate outcome measures.
