This position is for a Chef Instructor with a public university at a campus location in Gulfport, MS.Job Description Summary / Essential Duties: The successful candidate will lead the Bachelor of Technology in Professional Studies (with concentration in Culinary Arts) program at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jefferson Davis Campus and teach at least 12 credit hours per semester; Classes will include hands-on food preparation and other hospitality industry subject matter; The successful candidate will also be responsible for building relationships with constituents, namely by way of student recruitment, within South Mississippi as well as other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts and holding an M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in an area of hospitality management; Candidates currently pursuing an M.A., M.S. or Ph.D. are encouraged to apply; Other preferred qualifications include experience as a working chef and demonstrated accomplishments in supervisory management, and teaching experience in a liberal arts environment; The successful candidate must be able to work with a diverse community of both traditional students and non-traditional students and be comfortable in a culinary teaching environment.
