The Business
Our Health and Group Benefits business helps large and mid-size clients control soaring health and welfare plan costs, improve health outcomes and promote employee engagement through broad-based, state-of-the-art interventions. Our Health Management practice focuses on clinical solutions, supporting the overall health of an employee population. These include wellness programs to promote health on a preventive basis, care management programs to address acute or chronic health needs of individuals, and provider strategies to promote cost-effective and efficient use of health care services. These health management approaches encourage employees to take ownership of their health care and become informed and engaged health care patients and consumers.
The Role
As a Health Management Consultant you will consult on a wide variety of complex Health Management and broader Health and Group Benefits projects. You will serve as the project manager and day to day communication liaison with our clients and their program vendors, create client deliverables, contribute to client management and new business activities, and participate in the creation of new intellectual capital.

Performance Objectives:
Clients

* Deliver superior, consistent client management and project management in support of health management projects:
* Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
* Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
* Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
* Serve as the day to day project leader, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards
* Serve as primary, daily contact to clients and program vendors on delivery of services
* Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Senior Consultants and Client Relationship Managers
Excellence

* Provide valued-added consulting expertise on large, sophisticated Health Management projects including:
* Primary accountability is performance of clinical assessments of health management programs (case management, disease management and wellness)
* Development of culture of health and wellness strategies
* Health management vendor selection, procurement and optimizatio
* Measurement and evaluation of ROI for health management programs
* Creation of customized Health Advocacy Programs for employers delivered through health plans
* Design and implementation of onsite health optimization projects (e.g. onsite clinics)
* Design of innovative health management incentive programs
* Contribute health management and related perspectives to broader health and group benefits projects such as benchmarking, funding and re-design of plans
* Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches
Financial

* Meet revenue and billable hour goals established with your manager
* Support the generation of new business by enhancing relationships with current clients and recommending new projects and solutions
* Participate in prospecting opportunities with new clients as part of a broader team
* Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise
People

* Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
* Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
* Educate other Towers Watson consultants and associates on health management related intellectual capital and market trends
* Serve as mentor to more junior level associates

The Requirements

* 7+ years experience and success in delivering health management or related health and group benefits consulting services to premiere clients, preferably gained in a health care consulting environment, health insurance carrier, managed care organization or another leading health care provider
* Knowledge of the fundamentals of population health and delivery of health care in the US
* Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget

* Strong interpersonal and team skills
* Polished and well developed oral and written communication skills
* Self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity
* Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues

* Business acumen to identify opportunities for additional health management or other human capital consulting work in support of our clients’ strategies
* The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
* Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to keep abreast of latest developments in health management and Health and Group Benefits strategy, and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches
* Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
* BA/BS degree
* RN designation required, BSN preferred
* Flexibility with respect to travel that can range from 30 to 60%
