The entry-level Safety Coordinator will be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program.

*Responsibilities:*

* Develop site safety policies and procedures and monitor the activities of the project to ensure the job is compliant with governmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
* Assist in investigating the root cause of unsafe conditions and incidents through procedure, equipment, inspection, and worker observation.
* Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on safety performance.
* Review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with the standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching, and training

*Top Candidates will have:*

* Degree in Safety and Health Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
* Knowledge of applicable construction safety requirements.
* Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
* Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Certification as any or all of the following is desired but not required:
o Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
o Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
o Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
o OSHA 10 hour and/or OSHA 30 hour Construction Training desired but not required.
* Ability to freely access all points of a construction site and carry out duties in wide-ranging climates and environments.
* The ability to travel and relocate is required.
