The time is right to join HNTB Corporation. We are seeking candidates for a
**TemporarySenior Field Representative, managed from our Orange County office, supporting Caltrans Freeway and Local Agency transportation structure construction projects located in the Southern California area.**

**Responsibilities:**

**Responsibilities**include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for coordinating and monitoring inspection effort on Caltrans projects of large / moderate size and complexity, to determine that Contractors construction activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with design plans, specifications, and contractual requirements.
* Responsible for assisting with the resolution of project issues.
* Plans and conducts tasks requiring the evaluation, selection, substantial adaptation and modification of standard construction engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
* Reviews submittals by contracts for conformance with the construction contract documents.
* Act as a technical liaison between contractor and client staff.
* Supervising, mentoring and training of subordinate staff Monitor internal HNTB project controls for assigned staff Perform/Observe on-site material testing.
* Produce as-constructed schedules Read and interpret complex contract documents.
* Monitor contractors progress and compare with progress schedule.
* Prepare Inspectors Daily report of contractors work.
* Responsible for maintaining as constructed drawings.
* Perform sophisticated, complicated mathematical calculations.

**Basic Qualifications:**

**Required Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma or GED plus 15 years construction related experience. All jurisdictional certifications as required.
* Proficiency in on-site materials testing, following Caltrans Test Methods
* Familiarity and proven past track record delivering services on Caltrans Structure (bridges, retaining walls and buildings) construction projects.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Four year degree in Construction management or Construction technology preferred
* Experience with Caltrans Office of Structure Construction (OSC) process and procedures, with corresponding strong prior supervisory references.

**Work Environment**

* Significant commuting may be required, and successful respondents must be able to travel using a work truck.
* May be exposed to loud noises, dust, chemicals, extreme weather conditions and sunlight while out in the field. May be required to work in a wide range of sometimes extreme weather conditions, including heat up to 120 degrees, cold as low as 25 degrees, strong winds, rain, sleet or snow.
* Work mostly consists of five, eight-hour days. Travel, overtime and/or night work may be required.
* Must be able to physically lift / be capable of carrying 50 lbs.
* Regular and punctual attendance is required.
