**OVERVIEW** Coordinates product order and delivery to internal and external customers. Acts as customer contact regarding inventory, pricing, scheduling, and shipping. Responds to inquiries through phone, mail and/or face to face contacts with customers and prospects about the company's products or services. Uses a computer system to track questions and answers as well as enter orders. Responds to inquiries requiring a written response with the use of standard or form letters. Responsible for development of relationships with truck carriers, following guidelines for establishing new carriers as well as freight negotiations. Acts as a company representative to promote and ensure compliance of Excellence through Stewardship program.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Accountable for interfacing with production planning, scheduling, deployment, transportation and warehouse personnel to ensure inventory availability to meet current and projected sales needs. Responsible for inventory management and reconciliation for assigned storage warehouses
* Answers product and distribution inquiries from growers and customers. Provides communication link between sales and distribution to facilitate prompt response. Basic negotiation skills required to ensure timely and lowest cost delivery of products to our customers, both internal and external.
* Communicate, train, and monitor compliance in accordance with the Simplot Plant Sciences Excellence through Stewardship program.
* Identify, track and resolve customer shipment and distribution related problems.
* Receives, coordinates, and processes orders from customers, brokers, and sales or area managers for shipments from manufacturing plants, warehouses and exchange locations.
* Reconciles product and freight invoices and approves for payment. Provides Accounting department with a monthly list of freight bills accrued for payment. May invoice customers or dealers directly and track receipt of payments.
**REQUIREMENTS**
* Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent). Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for meeting the minimum requirements.
* Two plus years related experience and/or training
* Basic knowledge of Agvance and/or JDE, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus
