Twitter has introduced new web profiles for all users after months of testing its new visual interface. The new Twitter web profile adds a lot more user information and several other features. Is it just me or have you noticed it look alike with that of Facebook profile?

The new Twitter web profile offers you a chance to get creative with your header image. You can take a look at mine and see what I have done with it here. You can create your custom header image or select from the custom headers in Twitter’s library.

Twitter Before the Update

The new Twitter web profile features the following;

Best Tweets: Tweets that have received more engagement will appear slightly larger, so your best content is easy to find.

Pinned Tweet: Pin one of your Tweets to the top of your page, so it’s easy for your followers to see what you’re all about.

Filtered Tweets: Now you can choose which timeline to view when checking out other profiles. Select from these options: Tweets, Tweets with photos/videos, or Tweets and replies.

Another awesome change in the new Twitter web profile is the grid view of your followers/following list. Instead of the boring long list of followers, the new twitter profile displays it as a grid which makes it even more aesthetically pleasing. This view also shows more information about the person you are following or those following you.

The similarities between the new Twitter web profiles and Facebook profile is easily striking, the new Twitter web profiles now have same square profile photo in the top left, and a large “cover” photo on the top. See similarities below;

Twitter New Web Profile

The new Twitter web profile simply amplifies your awesomeness. You can pin your favorite Tweet to the top of your Profile so nobody misses it. Twitter highlights your tweets that have the most engagement by displaying them slightly larger than the rest. You can also swap it out anytime you want.

The new Twitter web profile will allow you to see all your photos and videos in one place. You can also filter by favorites, followers and more. The most interesting part is that you can view your Tweets without lots of replies in one seamless timeline. You can simply choose which timeline to view when checking out a profile page. You can see all tweets, tweets with photos and videos only, or just tweets and replies.

You will agree with me that the new Twitter web profile’s design is easy on the eye. The new Twitter web profile definitely looks like that of Facebook and this might have something to do with attracting a more mainstream audience.

The larger header and profile picture gives you more room to enhance your Twitter presence. There is no denial the new Twitter web profile may be to make room for more advertising on the platform just as it is done on Facebook.

The clean design brings out key information about the user like followers and it also makes it easier to find other users’ lists and favorites. Video previews look uncluttered like it used to be.

In general the new Twitter web profile design look clean and uncluttered, had a lot of white spaces and easier on the eyes. This will definitely improve user experience and engagements.
