nest10 // VOL 12 Tracklist

TroyBoi – Afterhours Ft. Diplo And Nina Sky (B – Sides Remix) [Mad Decent]

Los Angeles producer, Brendan Long aka B-sides, has been all over the place lately, remixing everyone from Dillon Francis and Jauz to Alison Wonderland and Slander & NGHTMRE. His latest rework comes in the form of a wonky, wall-to-wall take on TroyBoi & Diplo’s recent blockbuster with Nina Sky which comes as part of Mad Decent’s annual Christmas compilation.

Jonas Rathsman & Isaac Tichauer – Rush Hour [Trunkfunk]

Two of French Express’ all-stars have linked up on a deep, driving house roller to celebrate 15 years of the Berlin-based imprint, Trunkfunk. Cheers to Mixmag for the premiere and download.

Friend Within – The Sound [He Loves You / Annie Mac’s FMM]

Grabbed by the lovely Annie Mac for this week’s Free Music Monday, Friend Within’s “The Sound” is a smooth house vibe bolstered by an array of shuffling garage percussion. This one will see release on Friend Within’s own label, He Loves You, as part of his new EP, The Run.

DJ Spookie – Reload (Jimmy Edgar Edit) [self-released/Relief Records]

Ultramajic label boss and techno maverick Jimmy Edgar has returned after releasing a stellar EP earlier this fall, gracing us with a free download of his latest hard-hitting edit of DJ Spookie’s classic “Reload”. A deep cut off of an old Relief Records EP, “Reload” is a textbook example of classic Southside Chicago House with elements of Detroit Techno.

Michl – Kill Our Way To Heaven (Nebbra Remix) [self-released]

A month ago, Michl debuted with an eccentric single that instantly became a peerless hit. As with most campaigns these days, singles are usually followed by at least one remix. French maverick producer Nebbra took the first shot, and with releases on Mad Decent and OWSLA, and play counts in the millions, it’s no surprise that he nailed it.

Tisoki & Spag Heddy – Forest Temple [self-released]

Edinburgh-based dubstep producer, Tisoki, has flexed pretty hard in 2015, finding his well-produced originals and remixes on some of bass music’s most currently championed imprints including Play Me, Buygore, and Disciple. His musical output is defined by its gripping force and impressive clarity — attributes also claimed by Spanish producer and recent Tisoki collaborator, Spag Heddy, who has created some major synergy in the new dubstep single, “Forest Temple”.

Flava D – In The Dance (Skippit Official Bootleg) [self-released]

Since its release last year, Flava D’s bassline anthem, “In The Dance” has quickly become a cult classic. It’s the type of track that instantly clicks with the dancefloor even if it’s their first time hearing it, thanks to a combination catchy and simplistic builds, and “oh shit!” low-end dives. This week, “In The Dance” receives some bootleg love from Southampton based producer, Skippit, who does the modern gem justice by adjusting the track’s stripped back nature to fit the vibe of a raw, in your face peak time banger.

Cola Splash – Curry Drinker (Djemba Djemba Remix) [Trekkie Trax]

Earlier this year, Tokyo’s TREKKIE TRAX released an EP from an artist named Cola Splash. One of the most memorable tracks on their self titled EP is a euphoric and vocal heavy banger called “Curry Drinker”, which trades off between rising four-four energy and arena sized half timed trap. This week, we got Djemba Djemba‘s take on the track, following a few months of its setlist and mix show circulation from the TREKKIE crew. As Djemba notes in the track description, it’s a “simple remix”, but a solid update nonetheless.

Young Thug – Hercules (Swisha Sweet & Los Remix) [self-released]

LA’s SWISHA SWEET has been going IN on the footwork lately (yas), and this week he’s teamed up with Jersey resident and Juke Bounce Werk member, Los to give us a new remix of Young Thug’s “Hercules”. Always down for a good thugger remix, and always down for the 160. This tag team rework blends the original’s late night smoked out pads with a new set of body moving drum patterns which fit surprisingly well under Young Thug’s vocal bounce.

Joseph Marinetti – JUMPSTYLE IS LOW ART [LuckyMe]
