San Diego’s Desert Hearts crew has enjoyed a smashing 2016, expanding their tint on house and techno sounds globally from New York to Costa Rica. Their influence has crept into the crates of some widely-supported tastemakers like Richie Hawtin, Maceo Plex, Paco Osuna, Marco Carola, and the Dirtybird crew.
Desert Hearts has strove to retain its intimacy even with such rapid growth, so much so that it ended up skipping the Desert Hearts Festival’s expected fall 2016 bout while figuring out how to keep it weird and special. Over the past couple years, they’ve been growing their City Hearts touring schedule, which allows them to bring the Desert Hearts vibe around to faraway places. Now, the Desert Hearts crew is ready to announce a 21-date tour that will take them deep into the American heartlands to inject those cities with a booty full of techno.
That tour sees them hitting everywhere from Salt Lake City to Boise with a possible stop in-between at one of your favorite cities. Additionally, they’ll be bringing back the Desert Hearts Festival to southern California in spring 2017! Desert Hearts was one of my favorite festivals last year, and I’m psyched to return to the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation next March 31 – April 3.
