A mustachioed man was spotted in the Wrigley Field bleachers Friday taking in a Chicago Cubs game. But this wasn’t just any mustachioed man.
The incognito fan watching the Cubs play the Milwaukee Brewers actually was a very poorly disguised Theo Epstein, the team’s president of baseball operations, who after the Cubs clinched the National League Central crown decided to celebrate by watching the game like everybody else.
Epstein’s getup didn’t fool anyone, of course, leading to several hilarious photos of the former Boston Red Sox GM and his “disguise.”

We’re not sure if Epstein ended up eating that hot dog, but we do know that Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer joined him out in the bleachers in what Epstein said might become a tradition in future seasons after the team clinches the division.

“To enjoy the real Wrigley Field and sit out there, feel the breeze, be among the fans, have a beer, it was wonderful,” Epstein said Friday, via ESPN.com. “Even better than I thought it was going to be.”
Of course, we can’t mention fake mustaches without an homage to Bobby Valentine, who famously re-appeared in the New York Mets’ dugout during a 1999 game sporting a bushy mustache and sunglasses after getting ejected earlier in the contest.
Epstein managed not to get the boot or be accosted by an unruly fans — the Cubs won, 5-4 — so we’d say this was a success.
