Jasper National Park is one of the most famous parks in Canada and the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies. Some of the most notable attractions in the park are the glaciers, particularly the Columbia Icefields, which is one of the only icefields accessable by road. Now you can get an all new view of the park's stunning ice formations thanks to the Glacier Skywalk, conceived and funded by Brewster Travel Canada.

The Skywalk is located right in the heart of the park and provides unbeatable views of the Columbia Icefields from the edge of the Sunwapta Valley. The observation deck is shaped like a large "C," shooting out almost 100 feet from the side of the mountain, ensuring guests get a panoramic view across the entire valley. Well, so long as they can conquer their fear of heights to walk the glass pathway that sits over 918 feet above the bottom of the valley, that is.

The striking design took the expertise of both Sturgess Architecture and Read Jones Christoffersen Engineering, as well as three years to complete. Steel, glass and wood were used to not only provide guests with a breathtaking view, but also to provide forms and textures that appear complimentary to the wild and rugged terrain. Additionally, the decision to leave off any paint or other finishes, ensures the Skywalk is as environmentally friendly as possible.

The attraction just opened up on the first of the month and admission is $24.95 Canadian although hotel and attraction packages are available.
