Online interest in Notre Dame remains high as overall website traffic increases by 10% over 2015's record. As the year 2016 wanes, it’s perhaps time to look back at another outstanding year of news at Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy. In reviewing the most popular stories in 2016 on the Notre Dame school website in terms of readership, a few things stand out.
News articles about student achievement dominated as more eyes viewed stories of individual or collective accomplishments, whether they were in the classroom, the art room, the stage or the playing field. Stories about satisfied (and “happy”) parents also saw many readers in 2016.
But one story in particular stood out among all of the more than 250 others. And that is when Notre Dame Preparatory School was named the top Catholic school in the State of Michigan for 2016 (and no. 7 when measured against all private schools).
Plus, not only did the school and its faculty, staff and students by nearly every measure have a stellar year overall once again in 2016, the website that represents Notre Dame online experienced very significant traffic, which speaks to the interest NDPMA continues to receive from both inside and outside our community.
Overall, NDPMA.org once again saw more than a million total page views during 2016 — actually 1,368,944 to this date, a figure more than 120,000 page views higher than last year’s number, which was put together almost two weeks later in the year. This total traffic number does not include visits to Haiku or any other password-protected sites affiliated with the school or its website.
So what this means is that the Notre Dame community and all it represents continue to be highly sought after by those interested in a quality, Catholic and independent school education. It also means that a lot of the great things that our students, faculty and alumni are doing in Pontiac — and in the world — do not go unnoticed.
