George, George, George…

The auction site, GunBroker.com, where George Zimmerman posted the gun used to kill 17-year-old Trayvon Martin reports that the item is “no longer in the system.”

Zimmerman listed the gun as an “American Firearm Icon,”four years after it was used to shoot and kill Martin. He was charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter, but ultimately acquitted by a Florida jury in July 2013. The link to the listing now shows an error message noting that the item “is no longer in the system.”

The complete listing read:

“I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon. The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012.”

Disgusting!!!!

Tribeca Rasies Money w/ Creativity

The Band Together: Spring 2016 Production in Action class at Tribeca Flashpoint College (TFC) held their Battle-of-the-Bands. Nearly $20,000 dollars was raised by Tribeca Flashpoint College students as part of their Band Together: Spring 2016 Production in Action Class. The students took a unique spin on interactive learning, and went beyond the classroom to make impactful strides to better their communities. The event cumulated in a Battle-of-the-Bands contest at Buddy Guy’s Legends where a packed house enjoyed the student-led production.

After creating a professional marketing campaign through social media, video PSA’s and mini documentaries as part of their two-month curriculum, teams battled it out in a competition fittingly held at Chicago’s legendary Buddy Guy’s Legends. The nearly $20,000 raised by students will be distributed to charitable organizations Erie Neighborhood House, The Ace Hardware Foundation benefiting Lurie Children’s Hospital, A Leg to Stand On and Corazon. The Exceptions dazzled the judges to win the opportunity to perform once again at Buddy Guy’s Legends during the summer of 2016.

Around the Way Girl

Taraji P. Henson’s memoir finally has a release date.

‘Around the Way Girl’ is set to hit retailers on October 11th, 2016.

Check out this note about the book from Taraji herself:

I love to play all kinds of characters, and I was trained to do exactly that. But whether it’s Cookie from Empire, Queenie from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Yvette from Baby Boy, or rocket scientist Katherine Johnson from Hidden Figures, they’re characters. As for the real me, I’m just a girl who went to Hollywood with my son, $700, and a dream. There were some detours along the way, some heartache, and a whole lot of hustle. My family, friends, and fans always keep it real with me. Know that I’m going to keep it real with you. Check out my story. I hope you laugh with me and cry with me and maybe get a little bit inspired.

Baby Rumors Arise… Again

The rumors and allegations that Janet Jackson has a fully-grown daughter out in the world for years, but now James DeBarge is coming forward and saying he’s been in contact with her.

He said in a Radar Online interview:

“Someone had contacted me. She spoke to me by email,” he said. “The first time was two years ago. I have not been able to directly see her face-to-face.”

The young woman suggested that they take a paternity test, but that hasn’t happened yet.

“She suggested it,” DeBarge said, adding that he has yet to meet the woman because he’s afraid.

DeBarge also confirms that when the woman contacted him, she admitted to being Jackson’s daughter.

“She did but without saying [it],” he said. “She was angry because another child was trying to come forward and say that she was our child. So she did out of anger.”

“She described as much as she could tell me because she was very fearful at the time,” he continued. “She was very angry about people running with this story about this [other child] being my baby. She got very angry. She’s like, ‘Papa I want to help you out.’ She had so much of personality and she was so accurate with everything she was saying, it was only things that I and Janet know. No one else but god, me and Janet.”

DeBarge says the woman wanted to keep their new connection private.

“She called me ‘papa,’” DeBarge said. “She didn’t want to get her mom in trouble. She wanted to do it quietly. She didn’t even want Janet to know.”

DeBarge claims that in the emails he received, he found out Jackson had allegedly put their daughter up for adoption.

“One of her adoptive parents died,” he said. “Her adoptive mother and on her death bed said she told her. She confirmed it on the deathbed.”

In the beginning, he had suspected that Jackson had a baby, and even went on a search to find her, but had no luck.

“I hadn’t known [that Janet had a baby]… not for sure,” he said. “I went on a search. Someone went through some serious changes to make it impossible for me to find. This had to be some serious inside work being done with the paperwork. Someone was working with them.”

So when the girl emailed him, DeBarge was overwhelmed by emotions…

Its a long interview, but very interesting.

Do you think Janet has a secret baby?
