# Responsibilities

The Director of Strategic Marketing Partnerships is a newly created position and is viewed as critical to fostering synergy across all divisions. In addition to developing consumer driven creative partnerships for external brands that create win-win exposure for NBC and the advertisers, s/he is charged with identifying strategic and creative partnership opportunities between the News Divisions brands and NBC Universal’s vast portfolio which includes: 17 cable networks, more than 50 digital properties, a premier motion picture company, television production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks. This role would help drive partnerships for TODAY, Nightly News, Meet the Press, and Dateline by leveraging internal and external assets.

*Key Responsibilities*:

* Create robust partnerships, leveraging symphony counterparts across NBCUniversal (film, theme parks, NBC entertainment, Cable Entertainment, Comcast, Sports) to drive value for News brands.
* Develop, propose, and execute strategic marketing programs that drive key promotional efforts, leveraging internal and external assets.
* Forge external partnerships to get the News Division brands extra reach and exposure.
* Lead day-to-day operations and partner relationships for key programs, fielding and prioritizing incoming requests, troubleshooting issues and roadblocks, and keeping things on track.
* Communicate with internal divisions, including Creative, Production, Programming, and Marketing, to manage timelines and workflow, ensuring goals are met under deadlines and within budget.
* Lead strategic efforts for News Division to support other Gold symphony priority brands.

* Initiate ideas for both external and internal partners that create win-win scenarios (1plus1equals 3)
* Develop positive relationships with all divisions internally
* Track record of idea generation with several win wins for NBC and advertisers

# Qualifications/Requirements

*Key Skills and Experience*:

* 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, with specific experience in consumer-driven brand marketing and digital marketing
* Solid understanding of entertainment brands and brand management
* Experience building a category and/or brand preferred
* Proactive, energetic, self-starter looking to have a significant impact on business success
* Balanced leadership style, a high level of intellectual agility and capacity to generate ideas.
* The ability to successfully develop and execute programs utilizing both direct resources as well as matrix resources, while investing marketing funds with focus on measured business impact
* Success in a matrix organization and a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Strong executive-level communications skills
* Leader and motivator of teams

*Basic Qualifications*:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
* 10-15 years of experience in partnership marketing, preferably in TV/media
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, particularly in crafting compelling presentations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organized and detail-oriented
* Strong relationship skills
* Self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative
* Outgoing, enthusiastic personality, and positive attitude
