# Responsibilities

Universal Studios Hollywood’s Consumer Insights is a fully integrated, in-house research team that designs and conducts primary market research from questionnaire development, field work and data processing to analysis and reporting.

The Manager, Research Systems & Reporting will be responsible for managing all elements of in-park demographic / point of origin research to support analysis of attendance dynamics, guest demographic trends, effectiveness of marketing / sales initiatives and value of new products / ticket types. This individual will also work with internal and external subject-matter experts in building Consumer Insights’ new technology infrastructure for data collection, tabulation, analysis and reporting. Finally, this individual will lead the development and automation of various research reports to ensure high quality and timely data in order to produce business insights and actionable results.

Responsibilities

* Manage all elements of in-park point of origin research to support analysis of attendance dynamics, guest demographic trends, marketing / sales initiatives effectiveness and value of new products / ticket types

* Optimize and manage existing guest research databases including data querying, data manipulation, report automation and ad hoc data mining to answer key business questions, communicate data driven insights and make recommendations that will improve performance of marketing and sales programs

* Interface with IT team on data validation, data integrity checks, troubleshooting and ongoing enhancement of guest research databases within and outside of the data warehouse environment to ensure high quality and timely data

* Oversee information systems contractors while leveraging internal subject-matter experts to design and implement new technology infrastructure for Consumer Insights team, including new data collection, tabulation, analysis and reporting platform for standardized and efficient operating procedures

* Develop and automate the creation of various guest research reports and apply guest / consumer research to produce business insights and actionable results

* Demonstrates theoretical and practical knowledge of research design and analysis

* Respond to custom / ad hoc requests for research data, perform statistical analyses, verifies accuracy of data and analysis results and summarizes research findings and conclusions in concise reports

* Form working relationships with all levels of employees and works collaboratively with colleagues

* Cross train in research projects assigned to others in the department to ensure departmental coverage

* Perform other duties as assigned

# Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelor''s degree from a four-year college or university is required; majors in Business, Marketing, Market Research or other related field preferred.

* Minimum 5 years of experience working with relational and marketing databases including database structure, running data queries, and formulating custom reports.

* Strong proven experience with data warehouses and data warehouse tools such as Microstratey, Business Objects, MS Access, DB2 and SQL.

* Strong acumen for developing standard and customized management reports using vendor provided tools, customized reporting tools and structure query language.

* Advanced knowledge of Excel, including macros, statistical analysis and VBA programming

* Expertise using all MS Office applications including Access, Word and PowerPoint

* Proficient skills in SPSS or SAS or Wincross

# Desired Characteristics

* Minimum 2 years of experience in consumer-focused market research with a full-service market research supplier

* Knowledge of research techniques including concept testing, awareness/attitude/usage tracking, and diagnostic copy and promotions testing

* Online research development experience using platforms such as SurveyMonkey, EntryWare, Zoomerang, QuestionPro and / or Confirmit or Vovici

* Strong multitasking capabilities, project management skills and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change

* Self-directed and able to work independently but also able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented department

* MBA is a plus
