Lazy Acres Market, a natural and organic food store operated by the parent of Bristol Farms, has leased an 18,700-square-foot Mission Hills space formerly occupied by grocer Haggen Inc., according to brokerage firm Retail Insite.

According to Retail Insite’s Mike Moser, who represented the owner of the building at 422 Washington St., Antonicelli Trust, the grocer plans to open at that location in mid-2017.

Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed. Scott Manclark, of brokerage firm Cypress Retail Group, represented Lazy Acres.

The Mission Hills space was among dozens of California leased locations acquired by several companies in late 2015, out of the bankruptcy of Northwest supermarket chain Haggen. The Mission Hills location was acquired by Philadelphia-based Good Food Holdings LLC, which owns Bristol Farms and Lazy Acres.

According to its website and company statements, Lazy Acres has current locations in the Santa Barbara and Long Beach areas, and is planning several more Southern California openings in the next 24 months. One of those stores is planned for Encinitas, though an exact address has not been announced.
