Want to see Christmas lights without the distraction of driving?  On Dec. 14-15, special The T buses will offer tours to more than 200 decorated Fort Worth homes.

The 90-minute tours are only $5 per person (children under 5 are free) and will depart Stockyards Station between 6:30 and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

No reservations are required, but riders are encouraged to show up at 5:30 p.m. to take part pre-tour festivities such as visits and photos with Santa Claus, face-painting, balloon artists, holiday music, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.

While setting out on the tour, neighborhood carolers will greet each bus while Santa's elves provide candy canes to children.

Parking is free north of Stockyards Station and paid parking at other area lots is also available.

If that isn't enough holiday fun for one day, you could ride The TRE's Winter Whistler, complete with Santa Claus, carolers and story time for kids, from several stations around North Texas into Fort Worth.  Once there, hop a The T bus to The Stockyards and kill a little time before the lights tour festivities begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Winter Whistler runs between Dallas and Fort Worth every Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Dec. 21. The last train with Santa on board, Train 2969, would arrive at the ITC and T&P Station at 2:43 p.m. and 2:50 p.m., respectively.
