The Fort Worth animal shelter is desperate to find forever homes for dozens of animals.
The shelter is so full, several pets had to be euthanized earlier this week. While some animals are adopted, new pets continue to come in, so the city estimates it has between 350 and 400 pets at all times.
Firefighter Rescues Stranded Puppy From Pond
Fort Worth Animal Care and Control is offering $20 adoptions for at least another week to make room for more strays.
The adoption fee for all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens includes the spay/neuter, city pet license and microchip fees, as well as all vaccinations.
Cross-Country Cat Comes Home
Adoptions are from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at 4900 Martin Street. Pets are also available at PetSmart adoption centers on SW Loop 820 and Texas Sage Trail 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
On Thursday if you mention "Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce" the pet adoption is free.

If you are not able to adopt, foster parents are welcome too.
