PITTSBURGH, PA (WCMH) – Former Buckeye and Pittsburgh Steeler Will Allen is furious with ESPN after the network erroneously used his picture in connection with another player’s fraud conviction.
A former New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots cornerback, also named Will Allen, pleaded guilty Monday to running a multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme involving fraudulent loans to professional athletes.
A screenshot of ESPN’s original tweet shows a photo of the wrong Will Allen.
Former Buckeye Will Allen spent Tuesday afternoon sending ESPN photos showing him involved in the community, each with the line “this is who I am!! Not a criminal!!”
@ESPN I have never defrauded, conspired, money laundered nor been charged for a federal offense!! This is extremely insulting!! #PonziScheme

ESPN’s original tweet has been deleted. Espn later tweeted that they used the wrong image and noted that they replaced the image.
A previous tweet on former CB Will Allen pictured a former Steelers S of the same name. The image has been replaced. https://t.co/jOvpsqNV4T
