COLUMBUS (WCMH) – OhioHealth announced this morning a brand new office complex along Olentangy River Road that will bring at least 900 new jobs to Columbus.

The new 240,000 square foot complex will be located in the southeast corner of Olentangy River Road and State Route 315, near Riverside Methodist Hospital.

The land us currently owned by OhioHealth and is used for overflow parking and as a distribution center.

The city hopes the new development will be a catalyst for more development in the area.

“This is a win-win situation. For OhioHealth, it’s the necessary infrastructure improvement to make this project a reality,” said Zach M. Klein, president, Columbus City Council in a news release. “For the City of Columbus, it’s job growth that expands our tax base to help fund public services. For the community, it’s a significant financial commitment to help those battling with drug addiction, whether they are an adult, a new mother or even a newborn.”

In addition to creating 900 new jobs, the new office park will consolidate 1,600 positions that are currently spread across 22 locations in central Ohio, including the corporate office at 180 East Broad Street.

The City of Columbus is proposing a package of incentives for the project, including a 35% jobs growth incentive for 10 years as well as a 45% jobs incentive for new employees hired who are Columbus residents.

The city is also working with OhioHealth to study possible improvements to the North Broadway and State Route 315 interchange.
