Tens of thousands throughout the region remained without power Saturday after violent storms ripped through the area on Tuesday, leaving behind widespread damage.
On Saturday morning, thousands woke up to their fifth day without electricity. Some of the hardest hit areas -- including Gloucester County in New Jersey and Delaware County in Pennsylvania -- were still seeing the highest outage numbers.
Rain Causes Flooding, Mudslide in Montco
Atlantic City Electric still had the highest numbers of customers without power, with about 36,000 in the dark throughout South Jersey. In Gloucester County, 18,775 AC Electric customers were still without power as of about 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Camden County AC Electric customers were the second most affected, with 9,953 still out. In Burlington County, 5,410 remained without power, and in Atlantic County, 852 were in the dark.
AC Electric Region Vice President Susan Coan said earlier in the week that the company expected to have power restored before midnight Sunday, but that most people would likely have service back by Saturday afternoon.

PECO restored many of its customers' power throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania by Friday as expected, but more than 2,800 were still suffering outages Saturday. In Delaware County, 1,641 customers remained without power, while 330 in Montgomery County, 552 in Philadelphia and 351 in Chester County were also in the dark.
PSE&G's outage-affected customers were under 300 by Saturday morning, with about 100 people affected in Burlington County, 80 affected in Camden County and roughly 30 still affected in Gloucester County.
