- All draft picks 1-60 were added to their correct teams. 50 out of the 60 draft picks have portraits and many have cyberfaces as well. I added a handful of undrafted rookie free agents to the free agent pool too (with portraits).
- 30+ additional players were added to the current teams/free agents. That the Official2K updates had left out.
- Added 11 new sets of real retro jerseys and assigned them to appropriate teams (55 Pistons, 58 Hawks, 50’s/60’s Royals, 60/65 Celtics, 67 Warriors, 70 Bullets, 74 Pistons, 82 Nuggets, 93 Clippers). Some jerseys were also touched up.

- A second team of rookies has been added. There are now 34 total future rookies available to play/assign to any team you would like (Davis, Robinson, Beal, Barnes, Kidd-Gilchrist, Drummond, Waiters etc). 28/34 rookies have cyberfaces (courtesy NBA2K12 community) and ALL 34 of them have portraits (I did those).
- Added the Bobcats new logo, new jerseys, and added Mike Dunlap (with portrait) as coach. I made their other jerseys as options to use as retros if you select them.
- Added 11 new sets of real retro jerseys and assigned them to appropriate teams (55 Pistons, 58 Hawks, 50’s/60’s Royals, 60/65 Celtics, 67 Warriors, 70 Bullets, 74 Pistons, 82 Nuggets, 93 Clippers). Some jerseys were also touched up. Jersey updates courtesy Brenzon/ChrisBrodbeck.

This is the "Ultimate Base Roster" file for NBA2K12. I’ve named it this because of all the other extras included in just ONE roster file and all functions work (association, season, etc) without overwriting any data.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. You will see 2 folders in the WinZIP file.
2. You need to place everything located in the "Main NBA2K Folder" winzip folder into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\2K Sports\NBA 2K12 (NOT THE SAVES FOLDER)
3. You need to place the file named “UltimateBaseRosterV20” located in the "SAVES" winzip folder into: C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\2K Sports\NBA 2K12\Saves
Then open the game and load the “UltimateBase” roster.
(Note: If you load the roster and not all the teams are showing then first load “Unlock All Settings” from the load menu. I included this file for anyone who hadn’t downloaded it yet.
IMPORTANT NOTE #1: I highly recommend going to the rotations menu and reviewing the All-Time Franchise Team rotations before playing. Since all teams have 15-20 players it's important that you go and select which players you want on your 12 man team that will be eligible to play in your game. Remember some teams have as many as 8 IR spots because I gave these teams extended rosters.
IMPORTANT NOTE #2: You may notice that the Retro Team "OVERALLS" that show up at the Quick Play Screen are out of whack - just ignore it - it doesn't affect game play at all.
IMPORTANT NOTE #3: Because I've mirrored some players onto the All-Franchise Teams there is one negative consequence. When you go into the Rotations Menu I HIGHLY recommend that you don't scroll through the Specific Year Retro Teams as you will be constantly asked to "update this team's rotation minutes". The game play still works perfectly and substitutions are made correctly, however because some players are mirrored onto the All-Franchise teams the game gets confused and will constantly ask you to change their minute rotations. So a word of advice: Only scroll through the Current NBA Teams and/or the All-Time Franchise Teams when entering the rotation menu.
IMPORTANT NOTE #4: Please be aware that in order to create space within the roster file I disabled the 14, 29 and 58 game association/season modes... so if you want to play association or season with this particular roster you'll have to select an 82 game schedule... if you want to play one of the shorter schedules you can still load any other roster... by downloading this file it doesn't mean you won't have access to the condensed schedules in other rosters... it just means you won't be able to get those shorter schedules to work with the Ultimate Base Roster.... most people select 82 games anyway, so it shouldn't be a big deal - but I thought you should be aware.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will installing the Ultimate Base Roster (UBR) overwrite anything?
A: No, UBR does not overwrite any game content. You’re asked to overwrite files when installing because the mod utilizes some hidden content in the game and has to tweak those files to make them work properly.
Q: Are the regular teams updated?
A: UBR is currently updated as August 19, 2012
Q: Why do I see headless players with white arms/white jerseys?
A: This is caused by installing the files to the wrong folder. Extract all the files into your 2K12 folder except the .ROS file, which should go to your saves folder.
Q: Why do I see black courts?
A: This is because the custom courts in the mod are made for high graphics settings. The only solution is increasing your graphics settings.
Q: Why do some retro teams at the Quick Play screen have REALLY low overall ratings?
A: Just ignore the overall ratings at the Quick Play screen. All the right players are still on the team with correct ratings. This doesn’t affect game play.
Q: Why is it when I scroll into the rotation menu the retro team minutes are scrambled.
A: The reason for this is because some players are mirrored onto the All-Time Teams. Just don’t scroll into the rotation menus for any year-specific team. You can change your lineup if you would like at the quick start menu or in the game making substitutions. This allows you to scroll into the All-Time Teams to make changes without the annoying pop up always coming up. Players still start the game correctly and substitutions are minimally affected.

Portrait Adds/Edits:
Over 1,000+ portraits were added to NBA2K12's Portrait.iff files. No portraits were removed or edited. Every single portrait that came with the game is still included. Huge credits go out to Wim.vl for the mastermind behind being able to add all these new portraits. Nuhmete and I went through and found 275+ portraits to add to Wim.vl's already great portrait file. Keep in mind the names below are only retro player / legend player portraits that were added. The file ALSO includes ALL of the rookie portraits from this past season in neutral white jerseys.
