When you are starting out, building your platform and personal brand online, it’s very hard to know what to look for, and maybe most importantly stand for. What makes great personal brand in the first place? That’s why I decided to share 30 incredible ‘Personal Branding Examples’ in action with you in this article.

The personal branding examples and amazing entrepreneurs listed in this post have all been in the ‘game’ for many years, so if you are just starting out, please don’t feel overwhelmed about their great website designs and strong personal brands. Building a strong and profitable personal brand is not a sprint and something you do over night … it’s something that takes time, hard work, dedication, patience and of course a lot of passion for what you do and want to be considered an ‘expert’ in. It’s an evolving process you have to go through and it never really ends.

Everyone, whether you know it or not, have a personal brand and it’s super important to know your brand and message, what makes you stand out and of course, know your ideal audience in order to serve them in the best possible way.

A little side note: I haven’t included the most obvious ones most of us should know and be very familiar with by know, like Gary Vaynerchuk, Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, Tim Ferriss, Chris Guillebeau and a few others. They all have incredible personal brands and businesses, and at least I had to mention them here incase some of you would wonder why I didn’t include them among the other personal branding examples in this post.

Also I tried to include a few different types of personal brands in this post, to show you what is possible if you really focus on building a great personal brand in an authentic and honest way from the very beginning. It doesn’t matter if you have your own personal domain name or your brand/business domain name. You are still a personal brand, always remember that!

So without further ado … let’s get started!

30 Personal Branding Examples

Lewis Howes

Lewis Howes is one of the greatest personal branding examples I know and get inspired by a lot, both in business and life. He started out by hosting LinkedIn events in different cities around the United Staes and became the go to expert for LinkedIn a few years ago. Obviously his brand has evolved over time and now he’s more of a lifestyle entrepreneur, living the dream, and that’s also what his website conveys.

Not only that, but his awesome podcast, The School of Greatness and his new Academy is more in line with where Lewis is taking his personal brand in the future. He is passionate about inspiring and helping other people achieve greatness in business and life.

Chris Ducker

I’ve probably learned more about personal branding and how to position myself online from my virtual mentor Chris Ducker, than from anyone else in a short time. I really love what Chris and his brand stands for, and he has done a great job all over his different platforms online, from his awesome website, business cards and social media profiles. Everything is very consistent – and you should be too!

If you are not familiar with all the amazing stuff Chris Ducker has going on, I would recommend that you tune in to his awesome podcast, ‘The New Business Podcast’.

Jenny Blake

I love Jenny Blake’s new home online and her personal branded website JennyBlake.me looks fantastic. It’s perfect for Jenny and just works for her brand and what she stands for to 100%. Everything is very thought out in every single detail, and I know she worked for a very long time with her brilliant designer and developer to put all of this together.

Jenny has built her personal brand online for a long time. She is a bestselling author of Life After College, blogger, micro business coach, life coach and highly paid and sought-after speaker who helps others “Wake up, live big, and love the journey.” She’s also a Yoga Instructor in NYC … it’s an understatement to say that she has a lot of things going for her and her new website really represents her brand in a very authentic and honest way.

You can see that her personality and message shine through with amazing photos and layout across her site, personal branding at its best!

Be sure to follow and say hi to Jenny on Twitter.

Marie Forleo

Marie Forleo is an extraordinary women, who is probably one of the best personal branding examples I know of. Marie is someone who has built an incredibly strong platform and personal brand online with over 100’000 followers and fans all over the world.

If you have been following Marie, and her award winning web show Marie TV for a while, you know that her website and everything around her, feels 100 % authentic to her brand and vision. She has really nailed her personal branding, everything from design to her appearance, high quality photos that showcase her personality, colors and so on are great. And I’m sure her audience can feel that too!

The only thing (and I’m sure Marie and her team are very aware of it), is that her site is not mobile responsive at all. That’s probably the only thing I would do better, the rest is just perfect for her brand.

Follow Marie on Twitter.

Jonathan Fields

Jonathan Fields personal branded site is one of the most beautifully designed websites, I’ve come across. Amazing photography, and personal branding all around. He really makes his great personality shine through he has a quite cool optin form clear on the home page as well.

Jonathan is a best-selling author, media-producer and entrepreneur. His last book, Uncertainty: Turning Fear and Doubt Into Fuel For Brilliance was named the top personal development book in 2011 by 800-CEO-READ.

Personally, I really enjoy his web show and podcast Good Life Project, where he brings on some really inspiring guests, and let them tell their stories. One of the most proefessionally produced web shows with great website design as well.

Joel Runyon

Joel Runyon’s site is a great personal branding example, if you have many different projects you’re working on that you want to showcase at the same time at one place online. If I didn’t use NavidMoazzez.com as my main personal domain name, but a more branded domain like Joel does with Impossible HQ, then that’s the way I would do it.

You can also follow Joel on Twitter.

If you haven’t done so already, you need to own your personal domain name, for example yourname.com or a variation thereof if it’s not available for some reason. It doesn’t matter if you won’t use it right away, you never know when it will come in handy. And you can always re-direct it to your main sit as well!

Nathalie Lussier

Nathalie Lussier is a digital Strategist and host of the Off the Charts Show. She is also the creator of the awesome free 30 Day List Building Challenge.

Nathalie is another excellent example of personal branding in action, and of someone who completely injects her full personality into the brand.

Everything she does is very consistent all around her platforms online, from her great looking website to social media and even products. Nathalie Lussier’s brand is quite easy to recongnize since she use a few accent colors that also makes her stand out other than her awesome content of course. It doesn’t need to take much, just some small details can take your brand and design a long way.

Pat Flynn

Pat Flynn is probably someone most of us are familiar with already. He has built an amazing personal brand around his community, blog and podcast The Smart Passive Income over the last few years.

He recently did a new website design which turned out pretty incredible, and it represents his brand so much more. Not only that, it also looks much more professional as you can expect from someone like Pat Flynn. He is a best selling author of Let Go, public, speaker and has a lot of things going for him, and therefore he also has a personal branded domain PatFlynn.com where you can find more information about all his different projects online.

I highly recommend that you listen in to the Smart Passive Income Podcast or read his blog.

You can also follow and say hi to Pat on Twitter!

Ashley Ambirge

Ash Ambirge from The Middle Finger Project is super chic and she does business and life differently (and having way more fun than the neighbours).

Ash is a prime example of an amazing personal brand in action. Among all the websites and great personal branding examples listed in this post, her website definitely stands out with the big cool font, and high quality picture of Ash. I just love the website and the awesome content she creates together with her team!

You can also follow Ash on Twitter.

 Joshua Fields Millburn

Joshua Fields Millburn has a very minimalistic and cool look and feel to his website. What really stands out to me is his high quality photo and that gives a welcoming experience when you visit his site for the first time. He uses his full name domain as the home base for his work online, and direct people to al the other places he can be found online.

Joshua writes on The Minimalists, first and foremost but he also writes fiction and nonfiction books.

You can follow Joshua on Twitter.

Tara Gentile

Tara Gentile is helping small business owners capitalzie on big ideas. She is using her full name domain as a home base for all the work she does online.

Tara has a very nice flat website design, a high quality picture of her in the background and a call-to-action. If you head over to her Twitter and Facebook, you can see that it goes in the same style as her website, very good and consistent to her brand.

Laura Roeder

Lara Roeder has built a fantastic social media company called LKR Social Media, and she has through awesome personal branding positioned her self as a social media expert.

She is very consistent with her branding across all platforms online, and she has her awesome weekly newsletter series called The Dash, which I highly recommend that you subscribe to for more free tips from Laura.

As you can see when you have a look at what Laura has to offer, the branding of her products are separate brands that almost stand on their own, for example Creating Fame, or her other courses in her social media online university.

Chase Jarvis

I’m a big Chase Jarvis fan. Everything Chase does is pretty incredible and his site speaks on it’s own with amazing photography and clean design. Chase is probably one of the most well known and best photographers that I know of, and I’m not even that into the photography world at all.

All I know is that Chase Jarvis has a very strong personal brand as a photographer, but not only that, he has a very professional looking and great web show, Chase Jarvis Live, where he interviews people like Gary Vaynerchuk and other creative entrepreneurs.

Jonathan Mead

Jonathan Mead has built an incredible personal brand around his brand and community Paid To Exist over the last few years, and he has also created several products as well to help people quit their job and live a more unconventional life.

His website looks pretty awesome with a nice flat design, as you can expect from Chase Reeves design project. Great use of the right colors, font and images, clear call-to-actions and so on. Jonathan has through this community and blog, build a very strong personal brand which is 100% authentic to his goals and vision for business and life.

Danielle LaPorte is the author of The Desire Map, founder The Fire Starter Sessions and Danielle Magazine . She has built a fantastic personal brand for quite some time now and her amazing website is just part of it. She is definitely injected herself into the brand and her audience can feel that too.

Great and high quality images, videos, and I really like all the white space on her website … it really suits the style and overall appearance of her brand.

Follow Danielle on Twitter.

Derek Halpern

If I could only choose to follow a few blogs online, one of them would be Derek Halpern’s awesome online marketing strategy blog Social Triggers.

His site is not anything special, but by y just looking at it, it definitely serves its purpose and that’s the most important thing. I included Derek Halpern on this list because I wanted to high light that you can have the best design in the world, but if your content suck, then you will not be taken very seriously and it can hurt your personal brand in the long run.

If you don’t have a lot of money to invest in a  really good design, go with a premium theme instead and keep things simple and clean.

You can also follow Derek on Twitter

Erika Napoletano

Erika Napoletano helps people get unstuck online.

She has a very unique and cool writing style which I really like and that was also what caught my attention, other than her awesome website. Erika is definitely not afraid to stand out, with her name in big font and a big high quality photo of herself, clear call-to-action and overall a very cool website design.

Check out her awesome blog over at Redhead Writing, and you can also follow her on Twitter.

John Lee Dumas

Can you really go from starting out online to making over 100,000 dollars monthly within a little over one year in business? Well, for most people this would feel quite overwhelming, but I know John Lee Dumas did it through all the extremely hard work he puts in every single day with a new podcast episode, his mastermind FireNationElite and his course Podcasters’ Paradise.

Just to be clear, John’s results are not normal, and you shouldn’t expect it either in such a short time. It’s definitely inspiring to follow his success and how he’s built a strong brand with EntrepreneurOnFire, but also a very strong personal brand, where he gets invited on podcast interviews, and speaking appearances at conferences frequently.

Feel free to check out John’s inspiring income reports and follow him on Twitter.

Cody Mckibben

If you are into building a location independent lifestyle business then you can run from anywhere in the world, the there’s a slight chance that you’ve heard about Cody McKibben.

He has really done an incredible job at branding himself in the lifestyle design niche through his awesome blog Thrilling Heroics and I’ve followed him from the very beginning on my journey.

Cody has also built an entire community called Digital Nomad Academy, full of inspiring people who want to quit their jobs and build a location independent business and live the good life.

I love this statement the most on Cody’s site: ”Reading this site may cause you to quite your job and start doing things that will make your friends and family think you’re crazy (and wonder why you hadn’t started sooner)”

Liz Dialto

Liz Dialto is a women’s body and soul coach, author and speaker. It’s hard to not like everything Liz is up to and she is someone who has built an incredible personal brand by using a lot of video and specifically mastering video marketing on YouTube to get more clients and leads to her fitness business.

Video marketing is a great way to build your personal brand and connect with your audience on a deeper level, and get this know, like and trust factor, which is very important much faster.

If we take a look at her website, it’s not hard to tell, that Liz studied online marketing and knows the importance of building an email list, hence why she has a similar style ‘feature box’ with optin form for getting email sign ups like Derek Halpern of Social Triggers. Liz has a really clean and nice looking home page and inner pages where she clearly displays what she offers and of course a blog as well.

You can also follow Liz on Twitter.

David Siteman Garland

By just looking at David Siteman Garland’s unique looking website for his show The Rise To The Top, you also get to know David’s personality. He’s a guy who is not afraid to speak his mind and stand out. Right on the home page, you see a very high quality image of him, some information about what his show is about and who his target audience is.

Not only that, but he features his latest episodes there as well in a good way, together with a very clear call to action – to sign up for his VIP email list … we all know how important it is to build your email list from the very beginning so I won’t go into that much more here.

You can also follow David on on Twitter.

Ramit Sethi

Ramit Sethi needs no introduction. He is a bestselling author of I will Teach You To Be Rich, and writer at his popular blog under the same name where he provides and shares tons of value to his audience and readers every week. He also has various of courses for people who want to take things to the next level. Ramit is the real deal, and you should definitely check his work out!

The site works great for Ramit, and everything he stands for. He has social proof from media sources up top and he has 3 different clear call-to-actions with offers where you can optin and receive your free gift.

Scott Dinsmore

Scott Dinsmore has built so much more than a strong and extremely profitable personal brand around his blog and amazing community Live Your Legend. He believes in changing the world by doing work you love. He has created something far bigger than himself, more like a movement, and now he even has people arranging meetups all over the world under the Live Your Legend brand, pretty cool!

If we talk about website design, he has some social proof up top from big media sources where he has been featured in the past which is great, and overall the site does it’s job and goes with the brand and image. The design is not my preferred style, since I like a bit more space and white areas, and possibly we will see and design update soon of Live Your Legend, since the current version has been around for a while.

Be sure to wathc Scott’s TEDx Talk and follow him on Twitter.

Neghar Fonooni

Neghar Fonooni is a fitness and lifestyle coach, writer, and yogi with a passion for food, movement, and mindful living.

I have personally followed Neghar Fonooni for the last few months and what she has been up to. As I’m writing this she has almost 58,000 fans on her Facebook page, which is pretty incredible. When I started following her she had around 14,000, so she’s definitely been up to some great things lately with a new product launch and more good things to come her way for sure.

I love her website, and the colors and the logo together with the “Eat, Life, Happy” brand is awesome. She is a perfect example of someone who has been able to inject her full personality into her personal brand, just the way it should be.

Also guys … you don’t want to mess with her in the gym. She probably dead lift way more than you do!

Natalie Sisson

Natalie Sisson is The Suitcase Entrepreneur. Whenever you hear the word Suitcase Entrepreneur, you think about Natalie. To me, that’s great personal branding and brand awareness, and she has definitely built a strong and very profitable brand over the last few years.

If you would like to learn even more about how to achieve Natalie’s lifestyle and run a location independent business, I would definitely check out her best-selling book under the same name, The Suitcase Entrepreneur.

Her website is very professional and welcoming for a first time visitor. It’s clear what she stands for and offers her audience if they decide to stick around. Natalie also has a very smart, yet simple logo looking like a ‘suitcase’ that just works and every time you see this you identify it with her brand. She also has a great call-to-action and video on the home page where you can sign up for her email-list.

Overall, everything she does online is very consistent, and Natalie puts a lot of work and love into her personal branding, a topic I know she likes to speak about as well.

Jeff Goins

Jeff Goins website and brand Goins Writer doesn’t look anything special form first sight. But for a writer like Jeff this site is just what he needs to get the message across to his audience, and I love the clean look and feel of his website.

You can also tell that he focuses on conversion since he placed the optin “feature box” very strategically up top on the home page in order to get more sign ups for his list.

Jeff is an fantastic writer and his personal brand and the website he has reflects what he does to 100%. Great example!

Maneesh Sethi

Maneesh Sethi is the founder and chief experimenter at HackTheSystem.com. He has built a great personal brand over time in the lifestyle design niche through his blog where you can learn about hacking life, travel, fitness, and business and much more.

His website looks very good as well, and the colors and cool images of Maneesh makes you get what the site is about right way. And not to forget … a big clear call-to-action on the home page for people to optin. That’s crucial!

Srinivas Rao

Srini Rao first started out building his personal brand a few years ago when he launched Blogcast FM. Now it has evolved and turned in to so much more. It resulted in his bestselling book The Art of Being Unmistakable and a very natural new direction for the podcast and brand as well.

This website and his new brand and podcast, The Unmistakable Creative is exactly what Srini stands for and so much more, love everything about it, and the design and artwork is amazing! He definitely injects his personality in to the brand and he has built a very strong personal brand this way with a great reach and valuable connections to almost everyone in the field.

And a little surprise…and shameless plug!

Navid Moazzez (Yes, That’s me!)

I wouldn’t normally include myself on such a list, but I’m very proud of the rebranding and new design me and my awesome designer worked on extremely hard over the last month of 2013 to get it out before the new year.

The feedback I’ve received so far is just awesome and the site itself turned out pretty incredible in my (humble) opinion. Everything from colors, look and feel were very thought out from start to finish. We really wanted to inject my personality into the brand, and not to forget, to also focus on conversion, optimizing and making the site extremely user friendly for my audience (YOU!).

I think we did a pretty good job. Do you agree?

I still have to get some things done when it comes to social media profiles and so on to get the same consistency as Chris Ducker for example. But I’m definitely working on it as well and will get it done pretty soon

Final Words

So there you have it, 30 incredible Personal Branding Examples in action. I really hope that you enjoyed this long article.

As you can see from all the great examples above, personal branding is more than just the design and visual image. While a good design is still very important to stand out when first time visitors find your website among all the millions of blogs and websites online, it’s even more important to be clear with your message and what makes you different.
