It is a time for expressing gratitude to family and friends that are near and dear to our hearts. Thanksgiving gives us a time to pause in our busy lives and think of the gifts and special things that make our world worth living for.

Being busy the past few weeks, I haven’t had the opportunity to share the third year birthday of my blog “Hoofbeats and Footprints.” I remember starting this fledgling blog and wondering where it would lead. Hoping it would eventually evolve into a money making endeavor became secondary to meeting special people who have entered my life through wordpress.

The giants of bloggers I’ve always admired include Leslie Carter of Bucket List Publications who has taken a small dream and made it big with over 1 million viewers. Or Mary Caperton Morton of Travels with the Blonde Coyote who travels alone through the remote areas of the U.S. with her little tear drop trailer and is a successful writer. And of course Mabry Campbell who is a phenomenal architect photographer whose work is uncomparable.

But then there is the heart and soul of our blogsphere that include so many special people. People with great heart and spirit whose nature transfers through the virtual world and touches ones soul.

Rebecca Budd, foundly known as Clanmother who always knows the right thing to say and is the most well read person I know.
Leanne Cole in Australia who is a fantastic blogger and photographer who generously shares her technical expertise with others.
Bente Haarstad in Norway that shows a world so different from mine.
Renee of Craves Adventure that somehow knows exactly how to put into words the meaning of life for ladies like us.
Mary of Oil Pastels by Mary who beautifully creates our natural world as I try to capture it and is my artistic inspiration.
Fatima Saysell who somehow became an instant kindred spirit across the Atlantic.
Sally Faith Steinmann of Hats and Horses that through our love of horse and kitties became fast and dear friends.
Ilex of Midwestern Plants who always manages to make me laugh.
Perpetua, known as The Seeker that shares her spiritual love and compassion to all that cross her path.
Andy as the Wandering Poet has always been a faithful and dear reader. Quick to comment and knows how to poetically express life’s emotions.
Jerry of Quiet Solo Pursuits who certainly is a kindred spirit for outdoor adventure and has always been a faithful follower.

There are so many more fellow bloggers that I would like to recognize, but then this would be about 50 pages long. Do know that each and everyone of you are special to me and I am so grateful that you are in my life.

So Happy Thanksgiving to you and may you have a joyous holiday – that is if you’re an American. ;-) For our international friends, celebrate with us and make this a time of gratitude.
