Maryland 06/21/13 Frederick County: Health officials are seeking the owner of a dog who bit a person at a local park on Friday. It happened around 9 a.m. at Baker Park in Frederick.  Officials need to speak with the owner of the dog so the bite victim may avoid receiving unnecessary post-exposure rabies vaccinations. Frederick County Animal Control officials say the unidentified dog, a small, brown, Yorkie-type, and another Yorkie-type dog were being walked by their owner. Pennsylvania 06/22/13 Franklin County: Officials are searching for the owner of a dog that bit a man in a local dog park and then left without providing information. A man, no name given, was bitten by a dog at the Guilford Township Norlo Dog Park on Wednesday, according to Dog Law Officer Georgia Martin. The owner brought his shepherd type breed dog into the fenced area and turned the dog loose, Martin said. The dog then attacked the man, biting him and breaking the skin, she said. The dog owner leashed the dog and left without giving any information on himself or the current rabies vaccination of the dog. The victim is currently going through rabies series, Martin said. The owner is described as a white male in his 30s with blondish hair. He is about 6’1″ tall and weighs about 270 pounds with no facial hair. The dog is described as a black male Belgian Shepherd Malinois type breed weight about 70 pounds. Ontario 06/21/13 Grey County: The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking the public’s help to find the owner of a dog which bit a woman in the lip when she bent down to pet it in Tiverton Wednesday night. The small, brown terrier-like dog was running at large without its owner, the health unit said in a news release Friday. The dog ran away and so the health unit wants help to identify its owner to see if the animal has rabies. Otherwise, the woman who was bit could have to undergo unnecessary rabies treatment.
