The Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida is seeking applicants for a two year appointment as a Post-Doctoral Associate in Clinical Psychology with a focus in the Health/Medical Area. The qualified applicant will conduct diagnostic assessment and treatment of patients presenting with the full range of psychological diagnoses and who also have some degree of medical co-morbidity.

Position:  This is a full-time psychology Post-Doctoral Associate position designed to provide the Post-Doctoral Associate with the opportunity to spend the majority of his or her, time developing their clinical competencies as a diagnostician and psychotherapist. Clinical training will be provided in order to obtain fulfillment of supervised hours for licensure. The Post-Doctoral Associate will work closely with four to five faculty members who are licensed clinical health psychologists including several with Board Certification in Health Psychology. Our Psychology Clinic receives referrals from across the Health Science Center and community for the assessment and treatment of patients diagnosed with the full range of psychological disorders, as well as for self-management of, and adjustment to, acute and chronic illness.  The Medical Services primarily involved with this position include: Transplant, NeuroTrauma, Gastric Bypass, Chronic Pain and Psycho-oncology. Post-Doctoral Associates will receive training in the application of (1) structured and semi-structured interview formats and a variety of other evidenced-based assessment methods, and (2) evidenced-based interventions. This will be primarily a direct service position; however, there will be opportunities to develop teaching/training skills by participating in provision of supervision to psychology practicum students and interns.  In addition to several hours of individual supervision with faculty, the fellow may attend didactics and seminars with other psychology post-docs, as well as faculty and trainees within the department and UF Health Science Center.

Training Setting: The Post-Doctoral Associate will be a member of the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology that includes an APA accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology and an APA accredited internship in health service psychology. The Post-Doctoral Associate will work closely with psychologists, physicians, and other health care providers in an interprofessional, integrated healthcare environment where day-to-day responsibilities will take place in the Clinical and Health Psychology Clinic. The Clinic is free-standing (http://chp.phhp.ufl.edu/services/psychology-clinic/) with close programmatic interactions with the UF College of Medicine as part of the UF Health comprehensive care programs (https://ufhealth.org/). UF Health Center is the largest and most comprehensive academic Health Center in the Southeast encompassing six colleges, a statewide network of affiliated hospitals and clinics, and the affiliated North Florida/ South Georgia Veterans Health System.

Available Didactic Experiences include (1) the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology’s weekly colloquium series covering clinical, research, and professional development topics relevant to all recognized specialties in health service psychology, (2) monthly post-doctoral fellows didactics meeting, (3) the College of Public Health and Health Profession’s seminar and guest lectures series, and (4) the College of Medicine Grand Rounds.

Research Opportunities:  While the Post-Doctoral Associate is a primary clinical position, there will be opportunities for research and publishing with UF faculty.

Stipend and Benefits:  $ 42,840 (1st year); $ 44,556 (2nd year); health insurance, five personal leave hours/pay period, 4 personal leave days annually, and all UF holidays.

Start Date:  July or August, 2016 is preferable but start date is flexible
