Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center (NMPRC), a Missouri Department of Mental Health forensic inpatient facility, is seeking one licensed or license-eligible psychologist, or a Post-Doctoral Resident.  The position is currently open and remain open until filled.  The start date is negotiable.

Requirements include a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Forensic, or Counseling Psychology, and MO license or license-eligibility, and psychiatric forensic interest and/or experience.  The qualified candidate may hold a Certification as a Forensic Examiner (CFE) from the DMH or, if not currently certified, willing to obtain certification.  The candidate will be provided supervision and training as needed for licensure, certification, and/or continuing education.  The candidate may be required to complete competency restoration examinations, Sexual Violent Predator Evaluations, Pretrial Mental Evaluations, risk assessments for patients charged with a sex offense and conditional release assessments.  The candidate may also be expected to provide evidence based individual and group therapy, as well as participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team.  In addition to a competitive salary (dependent upon whether applying as a Licensed Psychologist or for a Post-Doctoral Resident position) and Merit System benefits, affordable medical, dental, and retirement benefits are also available.  As part of the Department of Mental Health, the candidate will have the opportunity to attend many professional trainings free of cost.

NMPRC is a 108 bed adult inpatient facility that provides intermediate/long-term psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and forensic services.  It is located in St. Joseph, MO.  St. Joseph is a friendly community with a low cost of living.  It is 50 miles north of Kansas City and 34 miles from the Kansas City international airport.
