For Pop Music sensation Cyndi Lauper these days, all roads lead to country… music that is!

Known for hits such as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, True Colors and Time After Time”, Lauper will belt out classic country music by way of her new project entitled “Detour”.

Lauper has also announced that she will hit the “country road” and sing these beloved country songs live for fans!

She is slated to kick off her “Detour Tour” at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville May 9, 2016; her album is slated to be released three days later. Also joining her on select tour dates will be another Pop music icon, Boy George!

Lauper who is a GRAMMY, Tony and Emmy award winner, is known for colored hair and streaming pop songs. She continues to evolve as an artist by now appareling to those who love country music.

According to the singer: ““When I was a really young kid, country music was pop music, so this is what we grew up listening to. These songs are part of some of my earliest memories…,” as stated on Lauper’s website. “DETOUR showcases Cyndi Lauper’s unmistakable voice on country classics from the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s and features guest appearances from country music stars Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, and Willie Nelson. Lauper recorded the album in Nashville alongside a band comprised of the city’s top session players. DETOUR will be available May 6 on CD, LP, and digitally,” adds Lauper’s site.
