The Community foundation of Collier County just made life a little easier for many low-income families by donating $15,000 from the Alfred & Vera Goodman Fund directly to Collier Child Care Resources(CCCR).

The generous grants, will open the door for many children who come from low-income families by providing partial tuition for those enrolled at the NCEF Early Childhood Education Center, which is operated by CCCR.

Serving over 275 children annually, CCCR’s mission is to provide high quality early childhood care, education and endless resources to children, families and early learning professionals in Collier County.

“At least 75 percent of the families receive partial tuition assistance and 60 percent live at or below poverty level.  The future success of every child is in many ways determined before he or she enters kindergarten.  During these early years, a child’s brain develops more rapidly between birth and age five than any other subsequent period.  Children who are at risk of not doing well in school gain significant benefits from quality childcare.  All children need to enter school ready and able to succeed. We are extremely grateful for this donation that will enable the children to continue on their path to success,” said Niccole Howard, Executive Director of CCCR.

“Our mission is to connect donors to nonprofit organizations and community programs in Collier County.  We are pleased to help fulfill Collier Child Care Resources’ mission of providing high-quality early education.  It is satisfying to know that the monies will have an immediate impact upon the children and ultimately benefit our entire community,” said Eileen Connolly-Keesler, President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Collier County

Collier Child Care Resources was one of four agencies awarded monies from unrestricted funds totaling $50,000.  Other agencies included Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Champions for Learning and New Horizons of Southwest Florida.
