This post has been in the works for months!! I’m excited to announce that this September will my second Sew Many Books series…. {yeah!!} what is this you may ask? Sew Many Books is a sewing series of children’s clothes, inspired by children’s books. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE kids books! I don’t so much love playing cars, planes, trains {insert other boy toys here} but if my boys ask me to read… I’m there!! Last year I hosted the series for the first time and this year its back… bigger and better than ever! Sept. 1-30 will be packed with all sorts of fun!

1. 10 fabulous bloggers will be sharing looks here with more details on their blog too!

2. A Mega fabric and pattern giveaway will open Sept. 1 and run through the 26th.

3. A link up where you can share your book inspired looks too {with a prize pack for the winner!!!} The link will run Sept. 1-21, with voting open the week after. You can link up any look made in 2014. It can be an old post, as long as you add info about this series and a link back to the post.. so if you’ve already sewed something that was book inspired…. get ready to link up!

Now, for the details… the bloggers and prizes!!

Meet the bloggers…

Sarah of Blogs Like  Mother:

My name is Sarah and I am a wife, a mother to two gorgeous girls and a sewing and craft enthusiast. By day I am an Industrial Hygienist serving in the Uniformed Services; but in my off-time, I am a crafting, sewing and make-it-myself maniac! Having two daughters is the perfect excuse to sew and craft; I have sewn everything from my daughters’ crib and bedroom ensembles to my sister’s wedding dress. Luckily my girls still enjoy wearing the creations I come up with and act as (somewhat unwilling) models for my various projects.

Bernadette from Daisies and Dresses:

I have been crafting since I could hold a pair of scissors. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been experimenting with all types of media from glue sticks, pipe cleaners and paper to resin, precious metal clay, and, finally, to delicious fabric. I think I finally found my love.

I started sewing when I received sewing lessons for my thirteenth birthday. I didn’t care for it then so I put up my machine and didn’t really pull it out again until I had my daughter. I really loved all of the fun fashion out there for little girls but I didn’t love the price so I started experimenting with my machine and scraps. I loved the idea of being to create something useful and my love of sewing clothing was born.

Jenn from A Jennuine Life:

My name is Jenn and most days you can read about my creative adventures on my blog at A Jennuine Life.  I am also a pattern designer under the label Jennuine Design.  I currently live in Michigan with my physicist husband Dave and we have two little girls, Arden (five) and Hadley (two).  I work part time as an accountant, and I enjoy combining the creative and analytic sides of my personality drafting patterns or happily sewing while my girls are sleeping.

We have a love of books in our home – both girls’ names have a base in literature, so this series is right up my alley.  I’ll be sewing something from a beloved book that both girls reach for over and over which has a strong message of self-acceptance and confidence.

Magda from House of Estrella:

My name is Magda E. and I blog over House of Estrela. I am a SAHM to Gabriela (3 years old) and Santiago (1 month old), and we live in Portugal. I usually blog about my sewing creations. I have commited to myself to stop buying clothes and/or fabric if not really necessary. I have a huge (well, not so much nowadays) stash of fabric and clothes that I use to refashion and recycle. Sewing from what I have is a great challenge, so every little excuse is wonderful for me to sew. I was excited when I heard from Emily, and little after that I already knew what I wanted to make.

Ajaire from Call Ajaire

Hi, I’m Ajaire from Call Ajaire and I’m excited to participate in this series, but first a brief introduction.  I’ve always loved making. At an early age I started cross stitching and sewing and I taught myself to knit and crochet during college. When our now three year old daughter Bean was born I was filled with all sorts of inspiration, so I find ways to manage my crafty time and treasure those moments.  Books are a big part of our life with Bean so this series is a perfect fit for us.  I can’t wait to introduce you to the inspiration book and the resulting outfit!  For sneak peeks be sure to follow on Instagram or Facebook.

Scary and Al from the Shaffer Sisters

Hi, We are Al and Scary!  We are the youngest two of the Shaffer Sisters trio. We love cooking with butter & cream, watching our kids play, relaxing with friends, and talking over sewing projects.
Growing up we were always referred to our family as “the girls” and were nearly inseparable; while growing up we shared a bedroom, friends & hobbies. Until a year and half ago we were neighbors and our children grew up together almost like siblings. We have always shared many of the same design tastes; though Al is a bit more bold and dramatic & Scary is a bit more romantic and classic. We love to have opportunities to work together, we end up pushing each other to create something more. Whether creating in the kitchen, sewing room, or working on a pattern design we have found everything is more fun together!

Marissa of Rae Gun Rambling:

Marissa is a new mom, an auntie, crafter, philosopher (no really I’ve got a degree), sinner saved by grace, lover of food, devourer of YA fiction and new mommy. She loves sharing the things that make people smile, and her going-ons, and her little Etsy shop with you.

Michelle, of Falafel and the Bee.

Let’s see….

I am a 42 year old woman who is wife to the same man for 18 years and counting, and Mom to an 8 year old girl that I affectionately nicknamed “Falafel“, and to a 14 year old girl who my husband, at her birth, dubbed “The Bee“.

Whew. That’s a lot of numbers.

My grandmother bought me my first (and only) sewing machine (it’s a Singer Quantum XL-1) when we got engaged almost 20 years ago. I was terrified of it! When I had our first child, I decided that it was time to take out that machine (so that I could make her tiny little things), and started to get to know it better. I haven’t stopped since. I have learned (and am learning still) about sewing solely from the plethora of wonderful sewists on the internet!

Rachel and Donna of Once Upon a Sewing Machine

Hi! My name is Rachel I blog along with my partner (and mom) Donna over at Once Upon a Sewing Machine. We sew and design for my two little ones, one boy and one girl, and sometimes even sneak in some self care sewing!

We are big readers at our house, the kids look forward to filling up the bag to carry their new finds back and forth to the library each week. We are very lucky to be near several really great libraries. Sharing books I loved when I was little has been a great joy and I’m excited to be taking part in this series!
