Description: Cougar Athletics is seeking a self-directed and team-centered individual for their marketing role. The Marketing Coordinator reports to the Manager of Athletics. This position is primarily responsible for the planning, organization and coordination of activities and programs that will increase the visibility and awareness of Cougar Athletics as well as developing department sponsorship opportunities.

Duties: • implement and continual development and enhancement of a comprehensive marketing plan for the department

• lead the enhancement of our image, positioning, branding and advertising

• secure and maintain partner and sponsorship relationships

• coordinate all aspects of athletic publications and promotional materials

• oversee financial planning and budget management for marketing

• market research, analysis & assessment of Cougar Athletics

• update and coordinate social media materials with the Sport Information

Coordinator

• coordinate department and campus wide initiatives that will engage the community of MRU surrounding areas

• and other department activities as required

Qualifications: Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or related area

• 3 – 5 years of experience in a marketing professional position preferably within the sports industry

• passion for collegiate athletics

• experience with sponsor development

• proven ability to develop marketing plans and implement them successfully

• knowledge and experience with the effective use of social marketing

• extensive computer skills

• knowledge of working with designers and printers

• ability to develop long term strategic plans

• ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)

• experience working in a team environment

• strong leadership and organizational skills

• self-directed and creative

• ability to work under pressure and multi-task

Desired:

• Professional marketing experience in post-secondary athletics organization

• Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and graphic design

**Please note that some weekend and evening work is required.

Salary: $2,435.38 semi-monthly
