Press Operator
Sandvik Machining Solutions, a world leader in tools and tooling systems for metal cutting, as well as components and high-volume blanks in cemented carbide, has an opening for a Press Operator – 2nd shift at their Westminster facility in South Carolina.
The Role
The Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating presses for the production of tungsten carbide inserts.
Key Performance Areas
Perform all necessary duties to setup, operate and do routine preventative maintenance on Fette and Dorst presses
Duties can include order, powder, and tooling preparation as well as insert brushing
Perform work in accordance to established procedures and OHSAS 18001 system Feedback process improvements ideas to plant management
Ensure Quality, Production, and Delivery targets are met
Record work performed according to establish procedures (GSS2, PSS, etc…)
Maintain cleanliness and order in the shop
Adhere to all plant rules and safety policies
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum 2-3 years experience working in a mechanical or process industry preferred. The ability to think independently, be self motivated and have the drive to achieve customer satisfaction goals and targets is an acquired quality. This candidate shall maintain a professional demeanor with an exemplary attitude while working with coworkers, customers, and daily activities.
