Job Description/MissionAs a member of the Rock Hill Product Company Purchasing Team, you will work with other team members to coordinate engineering projects for purchasing and ensure the smooth implementation of new products into production. You will be responsible for evaluating vendors/suppliers on the basis of price, quality, service support, availability, and reliability; negotiating prices and terms with suppliers; and actively looking for ways to reduce costs while securing the best parts and services for the assembly of our products.Further responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:·Coordinate purchasing/quality activities associated with assigned projects, including strategic sourcing, supplier performance evaluation, value analysis, and serving as a primary liaison with suppliers to purchase materials.·Analyze Atlas Copco’s product specifications and inventory needs in order to develop supply strategies for materials and achieve optimal costs, quality standards, efficiency, logistics, and delivery schedules.·Procure parts and components for production needs in accordance with the Atlas Copco forecast and production plan.·Develop suppliers to meet Atlas Copco standards.·Develop strong network of vendors who can deliver zero defect parts and components at competitive prices and ensure that such parts and components comply with Atlas Copco product engineering and product specifications.·Evaluate existing and potential suppliers using Atlas Copco procedures and standards to determine the supplier’s financial stability, technical capabilities, quality, logistic performance, and cost structure.·Monitor supplier performance to ensure product quality, on time delivery, cost reduction, and compliance with product specifications.·Negotiate and order parts from vendors in accordance with Atlas Copco requirements and standards for quality, cost, and delivery.·Ensure that purchasing and procurement activities for assigned parts and components comply with Atlas Copco’s specifications and quality standards.
Knowledge:
·Demonstrated expertise in the areas of procurement systems and processes.·Demonstrated ability to negotiate prices and terms that are competitive and in line with the company's performance goals.·Ability to read blueprints.·Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.·Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.·Experience working with mainframe procurement systems such as BPCS and/or AS400.
Educational requirements:
·Bachelor's degree in Engineering, business economics or related field with two (2) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment.
