Maplecroft, the leading provider of global risk analytics to private and public sector clients, is seeking an experienced Principal Analyst for its Societal Risk practice.

The Principal Analyst, Societal Risk will assume a leadership role within our Societal Risk practice which is comprised of Human Rights lawyers, social scientists and public policy specialists. The Principal Analyst will produce and deliver tailored evaluations and assessments on the key issues, trends and drivers that represent strategic societal risks and opportunities to companies investing in conflict-affected or high risk geographies

An excellent academic record relating to the assessment of extra-financial risk in developing and emerging markets is preferred (e.g., international relations, sustainable development, international economic policy), along with practical experience focussing on political and human rights compliance risk, legal and regulatory frameworks, conflict and security, and sustainable economic growth. A broad understanding global political economy issues is also essential.

The role also demands a demonstrated ability to work successfully in business development and client engagement.  The successful candidate will bring to the position experience engaging with corporate clients, preferably in the areas of investment risk and corporate social responsibility. The ability to write/edit with speed and accuracy is vital to perform successfully in this role.

The successful applicant will report to the Associate Director of Societal Risk and will be based in Maplecroft’s office in Bath, UK.
