OTHER MTN DATA PLANS

• 7.5GB for ₦8,000 Naira

The 7.5GB data can cater for heavy and occasional users but if you are heavy data user who require data plan above this GB, you have to look for other network to buy data bundle from as this is the cheapest and biggest MTN monthly data plan for heavy users like SME.

• 1GB data for ₦500. To subscribe, simply text A1 to 131.

The MTN 1GB for ₦500 naira data plan is only currently available for Infinix Hot 2 and will probably be available to other Android One phone. Again, this data plan, 1GB for ₦500 is for a period of 12 months, after which the subscriber has to revert to normal data plans.

For smaller data plan users, 1.5GB, 1GB and 500MB monthly data plans from MTN is the not the best option for them as they are costly when compare to other networks in Nigeria that offer similar data plans.

In terms of MTN browsing speed, MTN browsing signal strength is ok. Depending on your location, you can browse at 3GB, Edge or HSPA signal strength which is relatively stable.

ETISALAT DATA PLANS, Prices and Subscription Codes

• 1GB for ₦1,000. To subscribe for this data plan, simply dial *229*2*7#

• 2GB for ₦2,000 Naira. Dial dial *229*2*8# to subscribe

These two annual data plans from Etisalat offer the highest broad bandwidth and validity. For SMEs and heavy data users, this data plan is the best option for them. For sure, this data plan is very costly as this is equivalent to 1GB for ₦850 Naira at such a huge amount of money.

In terms of Etisalat browsing speed, Etisalat network have proven to be fast and stable even in remote places in Nigeria especially when browsing at 3G or HSPA/HSPA+

Airtel’s network speed from my own experience is quite commendable. Although, this depends largely on your location as they are still battling to maintain and stabilize their 3G.

GLO DATA PLANS, Prices and Subscription Codes

• 1GB for ₦1,000 Naira (Always micro). Dial *127*53# or SMS 53 to 127 to subscribe.

To subscribe to Glo 24GB for ₦8,000 Naira, dial *127*1# or SMS 12 to 127.

In terms of browsing speed, Glo Network is NOT commendable as you may likely have challenges in their network browsing speed. In some town places, it is difficult to browse with Glo Network even at the face of their 3G, HSPA or HSPA+ Network. Many people have criticized Glo browsing speed.
