Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a non-profit organization that promotes socio-economic development by

The Reading and Numeracy Activity (RANA) is a 3 year UNICEF-funded early primary grades reading pilot project implemented in partnership with FHI 360 in collaboration with the governments of Katsina and Zamfara states, RANA aims to improve literacy and numeracy for girls and boys in primary grades 1-3 in the supported states. It will assist approximately 100 formal Schools and Integrated Quranic Schools (IQS) in each of the states.

The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with the Senior HRO in the provision of operational support to implement an effective, functional Human Resources process for all AHNi projects in team functional areas, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation and HRIS.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business/Public Administration or related field with 2-3 years work experience in the areas outlined.
Good understanding of Human Resources administrative principles.
Computer literate and proficient in the use ofword processing, HR Software and spreadsheets.

Literacy Coordinator

Job Description
The Literacy Coordinator will coordinate the Hausa Language reading materials content development for continuous professional development of early primary grade teachers with integrated numeracy and gender contents.
In addition to this, S/he will be largely responsible for technical leadership of state-of-the-art early grade reading program, providing expertise in instruction, assessment, coaching, training and materials development.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in Early Grade Reading, Literacy, Language acquisition or related field.
At least 3 years’ experience itt education reform with a focus on primary education sector work in language acquisition and/or child literacy or reading especially in Hausa Language. Certification as reading/literacy specialist preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with government, partners and/or local government structures and school settings.
Proven expertise in Hausa Language, early grade reading instruction, assessment and reading material development.
Significant experience in developing and producing of supplementary reading materials, workbooks, trainers’ and teachers’ guides and instructional materials to improve early grades reading.

Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license.
Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations.

Community Mobilization & Gender Specialist

Job Description
The Community Mobilization & Gender Specialist will be responsible for advocating for greater attention to gender perspectives, providing the necessary rationales and advice on approaches to support gender mainstreaming on the RANA Project.
S/he will be responsible for integrating gender sensitive approaches to technical assistance, with sensitivity to promoting high level of collaboration, communication and cooperation with government facilities and mainstream gender into appropriate interventions.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Education, Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology or related discipline with 5 years working experience in community mobilization and gender integration at the national or international level.
Expertise in community mobilization and gender analysis, strategic planning, and integrating gender balance into project design and management is desirable.
Experience in dealing with issues of gender mainstreaming in material development and within public institutions and/or international organizations required.
Hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects is essential.

State Team Leader

Job Description
The State Team Leader will be responsible for the state educational program planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the reading interventions implemented by AHNI and the other RANA partners in the assigned States as well as overseeing strategic and day-to-day implementation of RANA activities in the State in accordance with the RANA work plan.

Advance degree in Education or its recognized equivalent with 6 - 9 years of relevant experience with international development programs. Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
At least 5-8 years’ experience in education reform with a focus on primary education sector work in teacher education.
Demonstrated ability to work with government, partners and/or local government structures and schools’ settings. Proven expertise in Hausa language, early grade reading instruction and/or assessment and reading material development.
Significant experience in teacher training and support for the development and production of instructional materials, including but not limited to: effective teacher training modules, assessment and/or supplementary materials.
