1. Bomb-blast In Zaria
A bomb has gone off in Zaria, Kaduna.
According to the state governor, El-Rufai 20 casualties have been recorded.
The victims are said to be mostly civil servants.
2. Scores killed in Kano explosion
Scores were killed and several others injured after an explosion near a mosque in Kano on Monday.
According to witnesses, the casualty figure could not be ascertained immediately, although a police spokesperson said the teenage female suicide bomber has been confirmed dead.
3. PDP Chieftain-Nigerians will beg PDP to return in 2019.
The national vice hairman (South-South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Cairo Ojougboh, has said that Nigerians will plead to the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to come back in 2019.
According to him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has proved within its first month in office that it cannot rule the country.
4. Domestic Violence: Suswam’s wife, Yemisi returns to Nigeria without husband
The ongoing domestic crisis between the former governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam and his wife, Yemisi, became obvious on Sunday after Yemisi returned to the country without her husband.
Yemisi and her husband left Nigeria for the United Kingdom a few hours after handing over the governorship to Samuel Ortom in Benue state.
Reports recently had it that Suswam was arrested in his luxury London home after police received a distressed call from his wife Yemisi.
The former First Lady of Benue State, accused her husband of assault and battery.

5. El-Rufai scraps State and Local Government joint account
Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor, on Monday, announced the termination of the State and Local Government Joint Account.
El-Rufai, made this decision known while swearing-in chairmen of the Interim Management Committees of the 23 local councils.
He added that his government would remit 10 per cent of its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to local government councils.
6. Tribunal to reserve ruling on jurisdiction over Rivers governorship tussle
The Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Monday adjourned sitting to July 9 to decide on jurisdiction, following an objection raised by the Rivers state governor, Ezebuwon Nyesom Wike.
Wike, who is the 2nd Respondent/Applicant in the matter filed by Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside of All Progressives Congress had argued that since the question of jurisdiction of the tribunal had arisen, it was incumbent on the court to stand down further hearing on the matter until it had addressed the question.
7. Ekiti market leader arrested over N93.8m fraud
Police in Ekiti state have arrested the Iyaloja of Ado Ekiti, Chief Mrs Waye Osho for allegedly collecting a sum of N93,860,000 from market men and women in the state.
Reports say that the embattled Iyaloja illegally allocated 4,940 spaces to traders at Awedele market, Ado Ekiti.
Mrs Osho allocated 4,940 space so far at the rate of N19,000 per slot,
totalling N93,860,000.
8. Rancour in Ekpoma over abduction of AAU professor
There is currently an imbroglio at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo state, following the abduction of Dr. Paul Erie, an associate professor.
Erie, who is of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Faculty of Agriculture, was kidnapped at his residence in Igbanke, Orhiowmon local government area of Edo state, on June 16, 2015.
9. Buhari Approves Over N400bn To Pay Salaries
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday approved over N400bn to assist states that could not pay the salaries of their workers. Reports say the fund was sourced from recent LNG proceeds to the federation account.

10.Chief Of Army Staff To Nigerians: We Will Fight To The Finish
The chief of army staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah has boasted that the army will fight until the reign of Boko Haram is over. Minimah was speaking on Monday in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital while marking the Armed Forces Day.
11. INSURGENCY: UN Screens 2000 Displaced Persons
Following the devastating effect of the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, the UN has commenced screening of about 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) for the first phase of providing means of livelihood to them so they can become useful to themselves and their immediate environment.
12. NEMA Confirms 44 Killed In Sunday Twin Bomb
The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has confirmed that 44 people were killed in the Sunday twin bomb blasts that rocked the city of Jos, the Plateau state capital, while 67 people sustained different levels of injuries.
13. 15 Killed In Fatal Motor Mishap
Reports from Kogi State says 15 passengers were killed in a fatal motor accident involving a 70-seater luxury bus and a trailer truck conveying cows. Report says 22 of the cows were also killed. The accident occurred near Irepeni village along Okene – Lokoja road on Monday.
14. 182 Alleged Boko Haram Members Released
The Nigerian army has released about 182 detainees formally held over allegations of Boko Haram membership.
The chief of army staff, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, presented the detainees to the Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima yesterday in Maiduguri, the state capital.

15. Bonfere To NFF: Appoint A Foreign Coach
Following the sacking of Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles coach, the former Nigeria senior national team handler, Johannes Bonfrere, has advised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to appoint a foreign coach as the next Super Eagles’ handler, saying only a foreign coach can put the Eagles in their rightful position.
16.Solomon Arase Orders Stronger Security At All Places Of Worship
The inspector general of police, Solomon Arase has ordered commissioners of police nationwide to strengthen security at all mosques, churches and other worship centres across the country. This was contained in a statement issued by the deputy force PRO, CSP Abayomi Shogunle, occasioned by the recent bombing of places worship by Boko Haram insurgents.
17. Police Meet With Clerk Of National Assembly
As follow up to the allegation of the alteration of Senate Standing Rules, the police have confirmed that they have met with the clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa, and some principal officers over the matter.
The deputy force public relations officer, CSP Abayomi Shogunle, disclosed this yesterday.
19. Barcelona confirms deal for Arda Turan
Barcelona have agreed a €41 million fee with Atletico Madrid for Arda Turan.
The Turkey international had made it clear he would be leaving the former La Liga champions this summer and was linked with a number of top European clubs.
Barca have now announced that he will join them for an initial fee of €34 million and €7 million in add-ons.

20. WBO strips Mayweather of welterweight title
The World Boxing Organization has stripped Floyd Mayweather of his world welterweight title which was won against Manny Pacquiao.
The body took the decision after the undefeated boxer failed to pay a sanctioning fee of $200,000 to the WBO.
In another development, the Ekiti PDP has accused President Buhari of meeting with a wanted murderer.
