Summary

A challenging role where you will work directly with the CEO to develop and strengthen our income streams;

You will oversee all of the business’ revenue generation activity including the development of high-value partnerships with corporates and NGOs;

You will lead in selling the NACUE proposition directly to corporates;

You will be a critical component of the senior leadership team and where appropriate, will liaise with Trustees and Directors to aid our prospects list and revenue target;

You will work across the organisation and help to develop a young team, as well as a young organisation towards success.

The Role

NACUE are looking for a new Director of Business Development and Client Services to lead new revenue-generating activities in pursuit of two key strategic priorities. The first is to ensure delivery of the company’s income targets from private and public sector funding. The second is to ensure exceptional client relationship management.

The successful candidate will be required to work across our different business areas and must demonstrate an ability to work with and develop a young, talented and growing team.

The Director will manage key business areas including; University & College Membership, Commercial (events and partnerships), BIS (government) contract delivery and corporate contract delivery.

The Director will be one of three direct reports to the CEO, forming the company’s critical top management team. This individual will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Finance to ensure the company is able to deliver on its contracts and achieve its sales targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

Drive the company’s revenue generation activity.

Lead on the designing and securing of new corporate partnerships.

Coordinate the completion of public and private sector funding bids.

Ensure delivery of our commercial targets and upselling of these clients towards our corporate services.

Work across the business to strengthen the organisation’s proposition and products where necessary.

Ensure exceptional client services and relationship management, through coordinated communication and reporting.

Work closely with the CEO to spearhead the business’ revenue generating activities and new partnerships.

Ensure that partnerships are developed in line with NACUE’s mission.

Work with the COO to ensure project and resource-planning activities are undertaken across the business.

Develop feedback loops within NACUE’s activities to ensure the organisation learns from engagement with our customers.

Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the performance of revenue-generating areas.

Drive and support staff in achieving their business and personal goals, and contribute towards creating a positive working culture at NACUE.

Required Skills & Attributes

Track record of sales, fundraising or revenue generation.

Willingness and ability to work in a challenging role within a young organisation.

Strong leadership and management skills.

Ability to initiate new partnerships, follow-through and close deals.

Demonstrable understanding of how to strengthen a growing business’ revenue-generation activity, with an ability to engage in long-term strategic planning.

Excellent organisational skills.

Ability to critically think through projects, programmes and proposals with a problem-solving eye.

Must be presentable; with excellent communication skills and the ability to represent NACUE externally.

Ability to work with young people to enable them to reach their potential whilst at NACUE.

At least five (5) years of experience in relevant work environments, with some experience of working in a sales or client services environment.

Desirable: Experience of working in education environments as well as private sector.
