As many of you are probably aware, I launched an online course on How To Create A Profitable Online Store a few years ago.

And during that short period I’ve signed up over 450 students. In fact, I made six figures alone just last year selling memberships to my class.

What I like about creating online courses is that it has several advantages over other online business models.

How Does It Compare To An Online Store?

Compared to an ecommerce store, selling an online course is 100% digital so there is absolutely nothing that needs to be shipped. This means that you don’t have to carry inventory or make arrangements with dropshippers. You don’t have to worry about orders not arriving on time. You don’t have to worry about products getting lost in the mail.

There is very little incremental cost to selling additional copies of your course which makes the online course business model infinitely scalable. Also, because everything is digital there is little or no overhead either.

What About A Blog?

Compared to a blog, well…let’s just get this straight right off the bat. Blogs by themselves are not that effective for making money online. While blogging is great for creating an audience and establishing yourself as an authority on a subject, blogs don’t make money on their own.

In fact, the best way to make money with a blog is by using it as a platform to sell your own info products. So if you possess some specialized knowledge and you already have a blog with a following, then you should definitely create your own online course.

After all, no amount of advertisements or affiliate offers will make you more money than selling your own product. And if you stop to look around, all of the famous bloggers that you read about make most of their income from either selling their own courses or selling their own software.

How About A Niche Site?

There really is no comparison here. Whereas you might be able to at most make a few thousand bucks a month with a niche site in the best case scenario, most niche sites scrape by with making only a few hundred bucks a month. This isn’t a whole lot of money.

To put things in perspective, a single sale of my online course would already make me more money than the majority of niche sites out there in an entire month. The best way to make money online is by selling your own products…period.

Introducing “Create Awesome Online Courses” With David Siteman Garland

Unfortunately as with all things in life, there’s always a catch. Creating an online course is hard to do. It takes a tremendous amount of work and know how to put up and launch a good membership site. Then, you also need to be able to put together a great curriculum to justify the selling price.

Fortunately, my buddy David Siteman Garland recently put together an incredible class that will teach you how to launch your own online course.

And while his class won’t tell you what to teach, it will show you all of the ins and outs on how to create and launch the heck out of your course.

In fact, I wish I had access to a class like his when I decided to create my own course several years ago.

When I first got started, I wasted a lot of time doing research on various software packages. I grasped at straws while trying to figure out how to launch my product. I had a lot of issues organizing my curriculum.

Not only that but I also made several boneheaded mistakes during my launch that probably cost me sales. In fact if you do some searches on my blog, you can read all about my launch screwups:)

Why You Should Listen To This Guy

For all of you who don’t know who David Siteman Garland is, he is the creator and owner of The Rise To The Top, a popular blog where he creates videos catering to the entrepreneurship community.

I’ve known David since 2008 when we both started blogging at approximately the same time. He has since established himself as one of the premier mediapreneurs on the Internet and he really knows his stuff. The last online course he launched grossed multiple six figures in income alone.

Anyways, I don’t want to praise David too much otherwise he might get a big head. But I do want you to know that I personally reviewed his Create Awesome Courses class and I think it does a great job of teaching you how to launch your own online course.

Who Is Create Awesome Online Courses For?

Realistically speaking, you can’t just create an online course from complete scratch and expect it to just sell like gangbusters.

You need some sort of connection with an audience first. So, if you run any sort of blog, have a platform or if you are extremely knowledgeable about a particular skill or trade, then this course is for you.

After all, launching an info product is probably the holy grail of ecommerce. There is no overhead and every single sale is practically pure profit. That and you also have the satisfaction of helping others at the same time.

Even if you are only remotely interested, I highly suggest that you go check out his course as he is currently offering a free 5 step video training. And, if you sign up by June 27, you’ll also have access to his VIP packages where he’ll be offering 6 group coaching sessions.

Having reviewed his entire course, I can honestly say that it’s a great class that will teach you the ins and outs of how to create your own online video based course.
